Here is what you will live
La Mancha is one of the emerging wine regions in Spain which is starting to produce very high-quality wines. It is also the homeland of Don Quixote, the knight figure created by Cervantes, one of the most famous Spanish writers.
During this tour, you will have the opportunity to follow the steps of Don Quixote through La Mancha. Although the area is a wind-swept, battered plateau (manxa means parched earth in Arabic) it remains a symbol of the Spanish culture thanks to its sunflowers, olive groves, windmills, and the famous manchego cheese. Trace back the steps of Don Quixote, and get immersed in a region full of tumultuous battles, where most of Spain’s Reconquista by the Catholic Kings took place.
La Mancha is located about 2 hours from Madrid. You will leave Madrid in the morning around 9.00 am and drive towards La Mancha while admiring the scenery of this beautiful rural region along the way. Once arrived you will visit two wineries and enjoy a wine tasting in each of them.
Afterward, you will enjoy a 3-course traditional Spanish lunch. You will also taste the spectacular and famous manchego cheese, which is always tasty, but really outstanding when accompanied by a good manchego white or red wine.
In the afternoon you will visit the famous windmills fought by Don Quixote.
