Taste of Tuscany at Villa Cerna: Tour, Chianti Classico Tasting & Food Pairing

Your visit to Villa Cerna, home of the Cecchi family in the Chianti Classico area, begins with a walk through the estate's vineyards. A sommelier or a member of the wine shop team will guide you, starting from the rows of vines and continuing into the cellars.

Here, you'll learn about the production methods and philosophy behind their wines. The tour concludes in the dedicated tasting room, where you'll sit for a guided tasting of four expressions of the territory: Primocolle Chianti Classico DOCG, Villa Cerna Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Ribaldoni Chianti Classico DOCG, and Villa Rosa Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione.

Each wine is paired with a selection of local products. You'll taste Villa Cerna's own extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar with focaccia, alongside compotes and giardiniera. The pairing continues with a board of Tuscan cured meats like salame and prosciutto, and three types of Pecorino cheese from Pienza, each with a different aging period. To complete the experience, you can choose an option that also includes a plate of homemade pasta or tortelli with ragù, with fresh tomato sauce available for vegetarians.

The experience ends on a traditional sweet note, with a homemade cantuccio biscuit served with Vin Santo.
