Tasting of 3 Wines and Regional Products at Adega José de Sousa
Here is what's in store for you
Your tour at Adega José de Sousa begins in the educational vineyard, where visitors can explore the main grape varieties used in winemaking. The visit continues through the modern winery, which houses 44 stainless steel tanks, and the archaeology room, featuring ancient artifacts discovered at Herdade do Monte da Ribeira, including a nearly 5-meter-high menhir.
The experience continues at the historic Adega dos Potes, a winery dating back to 1878, where some of the 114 clay pots are still used for vinification. Here, visitors can appreciate the blend of tradition and innovation that defines winemaking at Adega José de Sousa.
The tour ends with a guided tasting of 3 young wines (one white and two reds), vinified in the modern winery with minimal barrel aging, paired with regional specialties such as cured meats, cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, and Alentejo bread.
