Tasting of Tuscan white wines at Sassotondo Organic Winery in Maremma

Discover a different vision of Tuscan white wine with this wine experience at Sassotondo Organic Winery in Maremma.

After visiting the underground cellar, you will learn about our philosophy and our choices in ecological vineyard management. The Sassotondo winery has been certified organic since 1994, we are part of the VolcanicWines circuit and are members of FIVI - Vignaioli Indipendenti.

After the tour, we will taste five wines together, all made from white grapes (Carricante, Trebbiano, Sauvignon, Viognier, and Greco), which are vinified both traditionally and with longer or shorter macerations on the skins. The wines to be tasted will be Ritorno (Etna Bianco Superiore -Sassotondo- a nonprofit project that links us through our family history to another volcano), Isolina (the white but not so white), Isolina 2017 (5 years and more in bottle to enhance the minerality of a historic Tuscan volcanic white), Numero Sei (a gentle Orange Wine), Numero Dieci ( a more assertive Orange Wine, Greco with long maceration).

The wines will be paired with samples of Flamigni's savory pastries, an innovative project to enhance the meaning of a good food pairing, and from the tasting of our organic extra-virgin olive oil from MONOCULTIVAR CANINO olives.
