Your experience at Tenute Ugolini begins at the historic Villa San Michele, where you'll be welcomed by a member of the winery's qualified staff, the winemaker, or one of the owners. This is the most complete experience for those who want to explore the heart of Ugolini’s production.
The visit starts with a walk through the Pozzetto vineyard, giving you a direct look at the terroir of Valpolicella. From there, you'll proceed to the production cellar, barrel cellar, and fermentation room to learn about the family's winemaking philosophy and the techniques behind their wines. The itinerary also includes a guided tour of the rooms inside Villa San Michele, a distinct cultural landmark of the area.
Following the tours, you will settle in for the guided tasting. Depending on the season, this takes place either on the outdoor patio or in one of the estate's indoor rooms. You will sample four classic red wines of the region, progressing from lighter to more full-bodied styles: Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Valpolicella Ripasso, and Amarone della Valpolicella Classico.
The wines are served with the “Grand Tour of Italy” gastronomic platter, including Guanciale Mangalica, Salame della Valpolicella, citrus-flavored lonza, Gugole Dolce cheese, orange-and-pepper cheese, aged Monte d’Allevo, and cow’s-milk Fossa cheese. Children are welcome and will be served the same food platter as adults, as specific non-alcoholic beverages or alternative products are not available.
