Tour Crùs at Astroni Winery in Campi Flegrei, between Naples and Pozzuoli
Here is what's in store for you
The Tour Crùs offers an immersive journey into the volcanic terroir of the Campi Flegrei, where every wine tells the story of its place of origin.
Your experience begins with a welcome glass of Astro – Spumante di Falanghina Campi Flegrei DOC, before setting off with a qualified member of the hospitality team to explore the vineyards. Just 10–15 minutes from the vibrant center of Naples, you'll find yourself surrounded by nature on the slopes of one of the approximately 70 volcanic craters that make up the Campi Flegrei, within the WWF Italy Nature Reserve.
The vineyard visit includes a stop at the winery's educational viewpoint, overlooking the Astroni crater. Equipped with illustrated panels, this open-air classroom introduces the history, geology, volcanic soils, vineyards, and unique terroir of the area, while offering panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius, the Sorrento Peninsula, and Capri. The vineyard is reached via a steep stepped path due to the crater's natural terrain; during periods of extreme heat, guests may request to be driven there by car.
The tour continues through the underground winery, where you'll follow the grape's journey from vine to bottle. Walking among the stainless steel tanks and production areas, you'll discover the winery's approach to vinifying both white and red wines, learning why stainless steel is chosen to preserve freshness and varietal character. The production team also shares the technology behind the cellar and is available to answer more technical questions.
You'll then visit the former barrel cellar, now transformed into the evocative Wine Library, home to historic vintages, amphorae, original labels, and artwork by a Neapolitan artist. Whenever production schedules allow, the visit also includes the bottling area; during bottling operations or harvest, the itinerary may be adjusted for safety reasons.
The experience concludes in the tasting room with a guided tasting of four wines:
Astro – Spumante di Falanghina Campi Flegrei DOC (welcome wine)
Colle Imperatrice – Campi Flegrei Falanghina DOC
Colle Rotondella – Campi Flegrei Piedirosso DOC
Vigna Astroni – Campi Flegrei Falanghina DOC
The tasting is presented in an approachable and engaging way, focusing on the story behind each wine and its connection to the territory. Guests seeking a more technical tasting, including professional terminology and technical sheets, can simply request it in the booking notes.
The wines are paired with a generous selection of seasonal specialties from the Avellino area, which may include Bagnolese Pecorino, caciotta, fresh mozzarella, aged pecorino (12–24 months), pancetta, capocollo, salami, seasonal vegetables from the estate's garden such as tomatoes, zucchini and eggplants, and homemade tomato pizza. The food selection may vary according to seasonality and product availability.

Where we are and how to reach us
!!! IMPORTANT: When using Google Maps, please make sure to select Cantine Astroni and NOT Tenuta Astroni. The two locations are very close, but it’s easy to confuse them when in a hurry.
Once you arrive at Via Sartania 48, you will see a fairly steep uphill road. Drive all the way up: the designated parking area is located on the left. Warning: Do not continue straight past the parking area — you will enter the vineyard, where there is no space to turn around.
After parking, you will see two directional signs:
• One pointing uphill towards the vineyard
• One pointing downhill towards the winery
Please follow the sign to the winery and proceed down the stairs. At the bottom, you will find the entrance and the starting point of the tour.
For cars, minivans, scooters, motorcycles, and pedal-assist bicycles: no access issues. You may comfortably use the main entrance at Via Sartania 48, where a marked parking area is available.
