Tour, Wine tasting and light lunch at Santa Giulia in Montalcino

Abbiamo trascorso un tempo sospeso tra l'eleganza del racconto del brunello, l'odore del legno che si mescola al vino. Un pranzo delizioso con prodotti di ottima qualità, il tutto incorniciato dai calici di Brunello che ci hanno accompagnato in un viaggio colmo di gioia.

A group of 5 of us went on a wine tour of Santa Guilia this month. We also had a lunch. First their wines are outstanding including a very reasonably priced Brunello. They also make their own prosciutto which again was delicious. If you would like a really good experience in Montalcino, go here.

That's one of the things we learned in our recent experience at Santa Giulia Montalcino vineyard.
We didn't just learned so much about wine process but also had an exquisite testing of wine with those organic vegetables and cheese.
Our hostess had a vast knowledge of the processes and was able to convey her passion for the history behind each wine they produced at the winery.

We had a very nice visit to the vinery Santa Giulia Montalcino. We were warmly welcomed and made a tour where we got a clear view on how the process of producing wine at Santa Giulia Montalcino is conducted and managed. The lunch with testing of four different wines was excellent and we will sure try to buy some wine from this vinery in the Netherlands. Because we were on a biking tour we were not able to buy wine on the spot and take with us. We can recommend a visit to this vinery to everyone who is interest in a small scale vinery with high quality wines.

Die Azienda Agricola Santa Giulia in Torrenieri liegt schön eingebettet am Rande des Montalcino-Gebiets. Nicht weit vom Ort Montalcino entfernt. Wir haben uns für diese Tour entschieden, weil sie auch auf Deutsch Führungen machen.
Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und noch draussen wurden diverse Informationen zu den Weinbergen gegeben. Die Reben reichen fast bis zu den Gebäuden! Die Lage ist wirklich schön! Anschliessend wurden wir weiter in den Weinkeller geführt. Zuerst zu den Stahltänken, dann zu den Holzfässern. Dort liegen einige schöne Weine für die Zukunft bereit. Es wurde uns alles erklärt und unsere Fragen wurden kompetent beantwortet!
Dann gings zurück ins Haupthaus, wo ein schöner Raum für das Wein-Testing bereit steht.
Es standen 4 Weine bereit: der Quarto Giro, ein Merlot, sowie der Rosso die Montalcino sowie zwei Brunello die Montalcino.
Dazu wurden diverse Leckereien aufgetischt: Rohschinken , Salami, Coppa, Käse, Grillgemüse, Salat aus dem eigenen Garten und Bruschetta mit Tomaten und Käse. Es war alles regional oder sogar aus eigener Produktion.
Zum Schluss konnten wir auch noch den Grappa probieren, er war sehr lecker!
Es hat uns sehr gefallen und wir können es nur empfehlen! Besten Dank an das Team von Santa Giulia und herzliche Grüsse aus der Schweiz.

Wir waren mit 6 Personen zu diesem Weintasting.
Es hat allen sehr gut gefallen. Unsere deutschsprachige Führerin zeigte uns kurz aber sehr informativ die Herstellung des Rotweines.
Anschließend gab es 4 hochwertige Weine zum Probieren. Dazu gab es leckere Kostbarkeiten wie Käse, Wurst und Schinken zu essen. Zum Schuss wurde uns noch ein Grappa serviert. Toll!

Ottima degustazione di vini e dei prodotti dell'orto, oltre ai salumi e ai formaggi, posto incantevole, accoglienza eccezionale.
