Wine and Food Walking Tour in the Center of Verona

Discover the flavors of Verona on an approximately 2-hour food and wine walking tour through the city's UNESCO-listed historic center. Accompanied by a local food and wine guide, you will stroll through Verona's ancient streets while stopping at selected local shops to discover the specialties and culinary traditions that characterize the city and the surrounding area.

One of the highlights of the tour is the wine and food stop at a local restaurant, where you will generally taste 2 local wines: Soave and Valpolicella. The wines are paired with a platter of traditional products from Veneto and the Verona area, typically including a crostino topped with baccalà mantecato, Soppressa, and Monte Veronese cheese in two different stages of aging. The selection may vary depending on availability.

The culinary journey also introduces you to another important product of the area: olive oil. Olives grow abundantly around nearby Lake Garda, and during the dedicated stop you will learn more about olive oil production while enjoying a taste served on bruschetta.

During the tour, your guide will share stories and insights into Verona's food and wine traditions, giving you a deeper understanding of the flavors and products you encounter along the way.

The experience concludes on a sweet note with one of Verona's traditional desserts. Depending on the itinerary, you may visit the shop of the family that first produced Pandoro, Verona's famous Christmas cake, in 1909. Alternatively, you may taste Risino, a rice-based pastry made with rice grown in the plains south of Verona and shaped like the city's Arena.
