The heart of Salento in Apulia, the sunniest place between the Adriatic and Ionio seas, is where you can find Paololeo Winery: a Big Family before being one of the most modern and dynamic company in the region. The passion for the indigenous Salento’s vines deeply characterized the history of the Leo family since the beginning of the 1900s. At that time, Paolo Leo's grandfather, founder of the company, began to make wine in the family ‘palmento’, which has been recently renovated and transformed in a Wine Museum and a lovely tasting area. Walking through the vineyards you will be able to admire different types of vines cultivation, especially the traditional bush vines, which is Paolo Leo’s favourite. The production covers about 50 hectares of vineyards mainly cultivated with Negroamaro and Primitivo, the two most important indigenous grapes in Salento. The new winery, established in 1989, is about 15,000 square meters and is equipped with a modern vinification area, a completely automated bottling system and a welcoming barrique room that surrounds you with intense wood aromas from different size and type of casks and barriques. Tradition and Innovation show that they can perfectly work together in creating high quality wines, with certification and a traceability system, in order to satisfy different markets and targets, in Italy and in the rest of the world. The strong passion for genuine relationships and the absolute transparency in telling the work in the vineyard and in the winery has encouraged Cantine Paololeo to open the doors to wine lovers, keen to get to know the Salento wine tradition.

The property is located in the heart of the Salento production area of southern Apulia, on 180 hectares (450 acres) of rich land with an ancient winemaking tradition dating back to the ancient Greek. The landscape is flat and generous, the soil calcareous and tending to orange, the climate is typically Mediterranean with brief and rainy winters, long dry summers, and a constant breeze. The Reale family have owned the property for over one hundred years and have been making wine since the early 20th century. They have a passion for producing only the best wines and, after more than 100 vintages, this makes them one of the most respected wine producers of the entire Apulian region.

Cantine Due Palme, established in 1989 in Cellino San Marco by Angelo Maci, is one of Apulia’s most prestigious cooperative wineries. Located in the heart of Salento, it unites over 400 selected growers, cultivating 2,500 hectares of vineyards. The winery focuses on preserving Apulian winemaking traditions while adopting modern technology. Over the decades, Cantine Due Palme has incorporated several historic cooperatives, expanding its influence across key regional appellations. Its wines benefit from the rocky soils and Mediterranean breezes, offering travelers a chance to experience the true essence of Salento’s viticulture.

It was in 1929 that Francesco Candido produced his first wine. An important date marking the start of a Salento-style oenological story that is still alive today thanks to the hard work and passion of Alessandro and Giacomo, the third generation of the Candido family. These two brothers have nurtured a sensible approach to farming their land while also setting in motion a programme of innovation and development in order to make a name for themselves at a competitive level both at home in Italy and abroad

In 1999 the Falvo family, with over 40 years of experience in the wine business, purchased and renovated the property to give birth to an ambitious project in Apulia, a region with a long vine-growing tradition. Masseria Li Veli is located on an ancient Messapian site dominating the fertile and sunny Salento plain. It was founded by the Marquis Antonio de Viti de Marco (1858-1943), an internationally known Italian economist and university professor, Radical Party Deputy of the Reign of Italy, whose ambitious project was to transform the Masseria into a model cellar for the entire South. Today the beautifully restored Masseria covers an area of 33.000sqm, 3750 of which include offices, a reception area, vinification, storage and ageing cellars.
