4 A great place in Guagnano, Salento. (Claudio)The Moros winery is above all a beautiful architectural place. It is located in the town of Guagnano, about 25 km from Lecce, the capital of Salento. Only one wine is produced in this cellar. A special wine that tells the story of all the Salento. A Salice Salentino, historical Italian DOC, which is called Moros. A multi award-winning wine produced by Vigneron Claudio Quarta which is made with Negroamaro and Malvasia nera grapes coming from a soil with a predominantly clayey feature with the presence of limestone, which extends for just over one hectare in the beautiful countryside of Guagnano. Moros wine has an intense deep red color with amaranth reflections. Its particularly captivating scent has strong notes of vanilla and cherry jam. The taste of red berry fruits with fine balsamic notes and sweet nuances from the wood is marked on the palate. In the basement of the cellar where there is the barrel, there is a beautiful private collection of archaeological finds from the area of Taranto (Magna Graecia). The Moros winery is a small winery but it certainly deserves a visit together with all the other important wineries of Guagnano, one of the most important wine towns in Salento.
