3 Visit with the AIS Emilia delegation (Giulia)Visited the oldest winery in Modena together with the companions from my sommelier course, taken with the AIS Emilia delegation. Right from the first impression, Villa Cialdini, the Chiarli family's winery in Castelvetro di Modena, is truly beautiful. We split into two groups: the first heading to the winery and the second to the vineyard. The winery tour was led by Giorgio, a descendant of the Chiarli family. An excellent speaker, empathetic and engaging. The vineyard tour, on the other hand, was led directly by the estate's agronomist, who was also very knowledgeable and clear. It all concluded with a tasting of two of the Chiarli group's most characteristic wines: Lambrusco del Fondatore, a Lambrusco di Sorbara, and Villa Cialdini, a Grasparossa di Castelvetro. Although it wasn't a real guided tour with a tasting for a small group (there were almost 80 of us), it was still a splendid visit, where the passion, history, and dedication of the Chiarli family came through at every moment.
