5 Brilliant and informative visit (Loretta)We were in Porto for a few days and decided we must do the Taylors Port Tour as it had been recommended to us by friends and it most certainly did not disappoint. Such an informative visit including all the history of Taylors and followed by the wine tasting afterwards which we thoroughly enjoyed abd our sommelier was very knowledgeable. We would highly recommend a visit to Taylors during your stay in Porto.

5 Amazing tour and tasting (Jelmer)Amazing wine tour and tasting. If you're in Porto, you do not want to miss this family's wine house. Especially as they have an excellent selection of dry wines (so not port, although of course they also make port). Everything is still operated locally, by the family. You get to see the wine making spaces, the cellars, the history of the Almeida family and of course you get te try their amazing wines. These wines are the best way to get to know the Douro wines, great blends with traditional local grapes. Furthermore the friendliness of Tiago was something that made the experience even better. He even invited us to come watch the botteling process, which was taking place the day after we visited. Please, also don't forget to try the almonds, olives and olive oil, and enjoy! Thanks again to Tiago and the family, see you again hopefully.

4 Good visit, but disappointing experience with winedering app that was confusing (David)Hoped to book direct with Churchills port house (as would have been better and cheaper), but my query taken over by the winedering website which offered fewer options and led to me ordering the wrong visit! Wine tasting instead of Port. Managed to sort with Churchills on the day but overpaid for what we had and left feeling really stupid. Good visit and will be aware not to be misled by these third party companies

The waitress was very friendly and easy to make jokes with which was a big plus! We sat outside and had a nice view of the Douro and the riverfront on the other side. The experience you get for what you pay, also more than fair so I can only recommend this establishment.

The visit to the winery with the expert was amazing, he explained the history of Port wine, but also about the winery and his family, how the wine is made and what the differences are. He was very helpful and answered all our questions. The visit ended with a tasting accompanied by pastel de nata. I definitely recommend making a reservation!

4 Wine tasting in Gaia (Kate)This was a nice place, easy to get to, right on the waterfront street in Gaia. We tasted 3 wines - a white, a rose and a red. Also had olives and bread and almonds. Friendly and informative young man who served us. We enjoyed it. Just be aware this is not a port wine tasting. It is wines of the Douro region.

5 Tour and Wine tasting at Burmester, Porto (Rita)We didn‘t know what to expect at the 45 minutes guided tour with wine tasting, but were positively surprised. Our guide Catharina had a very in depth knowledge and good sense of humour. The wine tasting started after the 45 minutes tour and we had booked it together with cheese and chocolate, which I would recommend. Overall a very pleasant time with superb port wines! You could see how the notes of the wine adjusted to the chocolate and how you could distinguish the different flavors that the wine offers. The explanation of each wine was very good and the facilities are very nice and cozy. We receive very good attention from all the staff.

The only minor issue was the generous pour (which isn't really an issue as you get more bang for your buck), which led us to request smaller amounts. Overall, it was an outstanding experience.

The wine is great, the staff is friendly and overall you can learn a lot while enjoying four different kinds of Porto perfectly matched with four different kinds of chocolate. The only downside was that, for a system mistake, we booked for 19 while at 19 they close, so we were a little rushed in the end. I suggest that if you see the option "book at 19" avoid doing that, so that you can totally relax.
