With over a century of history, Poças is a family-owned Port Wine company, now in its 4th generation. Founded in Portugal, Poças has remained in the same family's hands since its inception, making it one of the rare Portuguese-owned Port Wine producers. The company operates three wine estates in different Douro sub-regions, with Quinta das Quartas being a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2001.

Taylor’s, renowned as one of the greatest Port wine shippers, invites you to explore its historic cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, where centuries of tradition and innovation come together. Established in 1692, Taylor’s has been at the forefront of Port wine production for over 300 years, and today, it offers visitors an immersive experience that combines history with modern technology. The recently renovated cellars now feature a cutting-edge museum circuit, where the story of Port wine and Taylor’s legacy is brought to life through an extensive audio-guided tour available in 13 languages. Visitors are taken on a vivid journey through the Lodge, with films, images, and exhibits that delve into the history of Port wine, the Douro Valley, and the exceptional Ports crafted by Taylor’s. The tour culminates in a tasting of two wines, with the option to explore a wide range of aged Tawny Ports or one of Taylor’s classic Vintage Ports, offering a deep connection to the tradition and quality that define Taylor’s.

Churchill's is a distinguished family-run port and Douro wine producer with roots in Vila Nova da Gaia and the Douro Valley. Founded in 1981 by Johnny Graham, Churchill's emerged from a blend of deep tradition and a modern vision. The winery has built a world-class reputation for its vintage, ruby, and wood-aged ports, alongside Douro terroir wines that capture the essence of the region and the spirit of Quinta da Gricha. Johnny Graham continues to oversee production, with the next generation now contributing to the legacy. As the last independent British port house, Churchill's remains committed to crafting wines that are deeply personal and aligned with nature. Although the Quevedo Family has been producing Port Wine for 5 generations, the actual company was only founded in 1993. This makes us one of the most recent Port Wine Houses from the Douro. With less than 30 years of existence, we feel we are at the beginning of our journey and every day is a fresh page added to what we like to do most: explore all the ways wines can be enjoyed. The impressive building dates back 200 years and it has a close relation to the Port Wine world. It was originally used as a cooperage that manufactured barrels and casks for the Port houses in Vila Nova de Gaia. In the 1950s, with the increasing usage of stainless steel vats, the business was turned into a wooden box manufacturer (boxes which were used to contain Port bottles), until the ‘90s, when it was transformed into a Port wine tasting room. Finally, we acquired this lodge in 2020 to be able to share our wines and passion directly with our guests in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Burmester is a distinguished brand known for its exceptional Port and DOC Douro wines, with a rich history that began in London in 1750. Founded by Henry Burmester and John Nash, the company quickly established itself by exporting Port wine from Vila Nova de Gaia to Europe. Burmester's British roots and dedication to quality have made it a renowned name in over 30 countries. The company passed through generations until 1834, when Johann Wilhelm Burmester, a descendant of the founder, revitalized the business, solidifying its reputation for elegance and individuality. J. W. Burmester, who initially started as a clerk, became the company's manager and eventually its owner, demonstrating remarkable courage and vision. Under his leadership, Burmester expanded its influence and continued to honor its terroir, which became a distinctive trait of its wines. The tragic death of J. W. Burmester in 1885, when he was overcome by a wave at Cadouços beach, marked a poignant moment in the company's history, but his children continued the family legacy, ensuring that Burmester remained a symbol of excellence in the wine industry. Today, Burmester's wines are celebrated for their elegance and the strong sense of tradition that defines the brand.

  Fonseca belongs in the first league of vintage port houses. Few port producers have maintained such consistency of quality and style from vintage to vintage. From the legendary 1840, Fonseca's first Vintage Port release, to the superb declared vintages of the last decade, the house has produced a succession of highly acclaimed wines even in the most adverse moments of history.
