5 Refreshing in every way! (Susanna)We enjoy wine. We make wine a destination when we travel - and also at home in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Our visit to Fausta Mansio was beyond expectations. Owner and winemaker, Olaf, greeted us warmly and told us about this family owned winery and the history of the local grapes. (Visit to learn the details.) Then came the tasting. Each wine was excellently paired with a delightful offering prepared by Olaf's wife, Paula. Everything we knew about the Moscato grape was replaced by a new understanding of what can be done with it in the hands of a gifted winemaker. Dry, well-balanced, refreshing! All four of the wines we tasted were expertly crafted. We shared wine, food and conversations like old friends. I highly recommend you discover Fausta Mansio when you're in the beautiful city of Siracusa.

4 Cosy, Family Wnetasting (Murdo)Arrived early for the tasting but this was no problem to Rolf, the owner, who greeted us and adjusted his schedule to suit. We had the five wine, five home made tapas option pairing food flavours to the wines. Rolf presented each wine in a casual but informative way, his English is very good so he could answer any questions and discuss the wines with us. No tour was offered, just sitting on the patio under a canopy tasting five lovely wines - two each of white and red and a rose. It is a small winery producing 20-25,000 bottles a year. Other groups were present during our 3 hour visit but this was not a problem. The vineyard is about a 15 minute drive or taxi ride from Siracusa Ortigia, no public transport options as it is in the countryside.

5 Wonderful experience (Tony)We arrived early due to bus timings but our host didn’t keep us waiting and we were able to start the tour straight away. Our host Olaf was very friendly and informative and we enjoyed five generous tasting of wines each wine paired with a tapas. Very good value for money and we would very much recommend this tour.

Beautiful scenery, pretty patio and a selection of unique, complex, amazing wines served with appetizers freshly made right there by the host! The scenery in the front and then the cosy setup at the back of the house has a beautiful contrast. 5 Excellent experience (Andrea)We were able to tour the winemaking area with the owner/winemaker while he explained the area’s vineyard operations. We sat on a lovely patio for our tastings, paired with different bruschettas perfectly. It’s obvious Fausta Mansio is a labor of love, each wine thoughtfully crafted. We ordered a case to be shipped! 5 Our favourite ever wine tasting! (Rachel)We were a party of 6 and most of us said it was the best wine tasting we had ever done! All 5 wines we tasted were absolutely delicious, and we would have bought them all if we weren’t travelling home with only hand luggage! 5 Amazing wines and experience (Lisa)This was probably one of the best wine tasting experiences we have ever had. Maybe because we were in Sicily and were just loving everything about this island. But this place is special. Family owned and operated; we were treated to an intimate gathering outside amongst the olive groves. Hearing about each wine from the winemaker himself was just so special. And the wines were incredible. We had 5 different wines, each accompanied by a small food pairing that complimented the wine. It really was magical. It was one of our favorite experiences of our trip.

5 Must try in Syracuse! (Jessica)This was hands down our favourite experience in Syracuse. This family owned winery was so charming and beautiful with a history spanning generations. Olaf and his partner prepared a wonderful 9-course tasting menu of wine and food pairings, and each one was absolutely delicious. After our meal, the owner helped arrange for our transportation back to our hotel which was very helpful. Looking forward to returning one day in the future!!!

5 Wonderful and amazing experience! (Shayni)We had a wonderful experience at the Fausta Mansio winery from start to finish. From the moment we arrived it was so warm and welcoming, and they made us feel right at home. All the wines and tapas’ were explained carefully and attentively. The hosts did a great job in explaining the origins and process of the wines, and we loved every bit of it. Everything was absolutely delicious and generous, and we would definitely come again. They also had some super friendly dogs to make us even more welcome.

4 RELAXING, INTERESTING, DELICIOUS (Haley)Had a lovely time at this winery. Very friendly and knowledgeable Owner. Setting was beautiful and welcoming. Interesting and full information about each wine and the tapas. Had the opportunity to purchase goods without any pressure. Questions answered readily. Only reason I did not give 5 glasses is because it was very difficult to find. We followed the sat nav but it took us to a location where it is not suitable to enter the winery. We had to reroute after making a call but although a new location pin was sent, it was still difficult to find and we were late for our booking. Luckily we were the only ones booked in. There are no signs to direct you either. So definitely leave plenty of time to locate the winery.

5 A Very Enjoyable Experience (James)First, the negative which was finding the place. We came from the south and Google maps sent us down an old dirt road to the backside of the property with no entrance. We contacted the winery and he had us map to Strada Carancino 7 and then Fausta Mansio. If you come from the north or Siracusa, this won't be a problem. A sign or 2 for the winery would be very helpful. As for the experience, it was wonderful. 5 generous pours, very tasty food pairings, and Olaf was very congenial plus if you like dogs like we do, he has 4 very friendly dogs. We highly recommend this tour.
