Cantina Roeno
(Winery in Val d'Adige)
Provides 3 wine tastings and winery visit from €45.00
Cantina Roeno has been a testament to commitment and passion in winemaking for over fifty years. The name "Roeno" reflects this deep connection to viticulture, combining "Ro" from Rolando, the founder, and the Greek word "enos," meaning wine. Wine has been at the heart of the Fugatti family’s life, with secrets and traditions passed down through generations, all while embracing modern techniques and innovations.
Situated along the banks of the Adige River, under the gaze of Monte Baldo, the Terradeiforti region stretches out—a borderland where nature creates a timeless and ancient landscape. For the Fugatti family, history serves as a source of knowledge and value, guiding them to draw from tradition while setting new trajectories for the future.
San Leonardo
(Winery in Val d'Adige)
Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €75.00
Tenuta San Leonardo is a storied estate with over a thousand years of history, once a monastery before becoming the residence of the Guerrieri Gonzaga family for more than three centuries. Located near Lake Garda, the estate is blessed with a unique microclimate shielded by the Alps, ideal for vine cultivation. The 300-hectare estate combines vineyards with centuries-old traditions, yielding wines that reflect Italy’s winemaking heritage. Under the leadership of Marchese Carlo and his son Anselmo, the winery balances innovation with age-old techniques, creating wines of remarkable elegance and harmony.
The estate’s story is steeped in rich tradition, passed down through generations. The Guerrieri Gonzaga family first took ownership of the estate in the 18th century, and over time, it has become a focal point of Italian winemaking. Marchese Carlo studied oenology, with significant influence from Bordeaux winemaking, bringing that expertise to San Leonardo, where Bordeaux-style blends are produced.
The family’s commitment to craftsmanship remains uncompromising, with a focus on sustainable and artisanal winemaking techniques. Their wines are known for their freshness, balance, and distinctive elegance, embodying the unique terroir of Trentino and the long-standing legacy of the estate. Today, the estate is a reflection of its rich history, blending tradition and innovation, and producing wines recognized for their exceptional quality across the world.
San Leonardo also holds a special place as a community, with local families contributing to the estate’s agricultural heritage, passing down knowledge and maintaining a close connection to the land.
LE FRAGHE
(Winery in Val d'Adige)
Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €19.00
I am a winemaker in Cavaion Veronese, located in the heart of the Bardolino production zone. Born in 1962, the third of six children, my journey in winemaking began in 1984 with my first harvest. Prior to that, our family’s grapes were sold to other wineries. Growing up, I was captivated by the rhythms of the seasons and the beauty of the land. From childhood, the sights, sounds, and smells of harvest filled my days and inspired my dream to create my own wines.
Today, I steward 28 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with Corvina grapes. The land I cultivate is as diverse as it is remarkable, shaped over millennia by glaciers that carved Lake Garda and the Valdadige valley. Monte Baldo to the north and the Mediterranean microclimate of Lake Garda to the south define our terroir, creating the perfect environment for growing exceptional grapes.
This is not just work for me; it is a legacy. The vineyard is a gift passed down from my father, and it is my hope to someday entrust it to my three daughters so they can carry on this tradition and pass it on to future generations. Every wine we produce is a tribute to the unique qualities of this land and my commitment to respecting and preserving its character.
