Soito Wines, established in 2013, is one of the most promising young ventures in the Dão region. At Quinta do Soito, a property with a deep-rooted wine tradition, two teachers brought their dream to life by transforming the family estate into a producer of exceptional wines. Founded by José Carlos Soares and Sandra Soares, both passionate about Dão wine, Soito Wines is a family-run company dedicated to producing and marketing wines of the highest quality. Driven by a shared love for winemaking, they embarked on this adventure intending to craft wines that reflect their dedication and passion. Although a relatively new player in the industry, Soito Wines has quickly gained recognition in the Portuguese wine market, winning numerous prestigious national and international awards. Today, it is regarded as one of the iconic producers of the Dão region.

Textura Wines is a family project that began in 2018 in the Dão region, on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, focusing on organic viticulture, terroir-driven wine production, and wine tourism. The project initially involved sourcing existing vineyards in a region known for its small growers. Today, it encompasses 28 hectares of vineyards spread across eight different plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and Penalva do Castelo. The winery practices low-intervention winemaking, allowing the unique soil and location of each vineyard to shine through in wines that are both elegant and distinctive. The Textura vineyards, which range from 18 to 50 years old, have been certified for organic viticulture since 2023. These vineyards are located in two sub-regions: Serra da Estrela (Vila Nova de Tazem) and Castendo (Penalva do Castelo). The diverse soils, altitudes, exposures, and microclimates contribute to the distinctiveness of the wines. Granite soils predominate, with vineyards situated at altitudes of up to 620 meters. Founded in 2003 by Julia Melo Kemper, Julia Kemper Wines is rooted in a family heritage of winemaking that spans over 400 years. Located at Quinta do Cruzeiro in Oliveira - Mangualde, within the Dão region, the estate’s vineyards thrive on a high-altitude plateau, surrounded by a rich biodiversity of roses, olive trees, and a protected ecosystem. The Melo family’s deep knowledge and passion for the Dão region have been passed down through generations, resulting in the production of exceptional organic and biodynamic wines. The winery focuses on traditional Portuguese grape varieties, including Touriga-Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz, and Jaen for reds, and Encruzado, Malvasia-Fina, and Verdelho for whites. The wines are celebrated for their quality, with delicate acidity, floral aromas, and refined texture, earning national and international recognition. Boas Quintas offers an immersive wine tourism experience in the heart of the Dão wine region, set across 12 hectares of vineyards at the modern winery in Quinta da Giesta, Mortágua. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the winery, learn about the Boas Quintas project, and explore the winemaking process, followed by a curated wine tasting. Established in 1991 by Nuno Cancela de Abreu, a fourth-generation winemaker with over 130 years of family tradition, Boas Quintas has grown into a multi-regional project, producing wines in Dão, Bucelas, Peninsula de Setúbal, Alentejo, Porto, and Douro.

Pereira de Melo is a family winery deeply rooted in the Dão region of Portugal, with a history dating back to 1973. This family project began with Manuel Pereira de Melo, whose adventurous spirit and passion for wine led him to fulfill his dream of creating exceptional wines. The estate, located in Santa Comba Dão, is devoted to producing small-batch, high-quality wines that express the distinct terroir of the region.
