About Winery and Wines
Cantine dei Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta
A historic winery in the heart of Monferrato, Cantine dei Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta has belonged for centuries to the same Piedmontese noble family, guardians of a winemaking tradition founded on knowledge, discipline, and deep respect for the land. Here, wine is the expression of authentic heritage: historic vineyards, charming estate buildings, and an atmosphere of rare elegance, far from ostentation. Our concept of quiet luxury is reflected in the silence of the hills, the attention to detail, uncompromising quality, and the time devoted to each guest.
The winery is open for visits with guided tastings, tailor-made experiences, and refined stays, ideal for those wishing to enjoy an authentic food and wine experience in Piedmont. Within the estate, you will also find the restaurant La Corte Chiusa, offering elegant seasonal cuisine rooted in local tradition and perfectly paired with our wines.
A place where true luxury lies not in a name, but in history, understated elegance, and quality that reflects centuries-old traditions.
The Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta has owned vineyards in Rocchetta Tanaro and nearby areas for centuries and the winery produces internationally acclaimed wines, typical of the region. The best known are the Barbera d'Asti Superiore Sant'Emiliano and Barbera d'Asti Valmorena, as well as the Grignolino and Pinot Noir and the blend Rollone and Colpo D'Ala. These wines are a prime illustration of the distinguished viticulture practiced in the Monferrato hills, with their unwavering focus on quality, innovation, and terroir. Each wine exhibits harmony, depth, and balance that can only be attained through years of practice, commitment, and passion.
The Monferrato area is known for its high-quality wines. The grapes grown by Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta include Barbera, which has a deep red color and a powerful taste, Grignolino, very typical of this area, Pinot Noir and Merlot. The Barbera wine is produced as a Barbera d'Asti Superiore with the name Sant'Emiliano, or a younger Barbera d'Asti aged only in stainless steel and this is named Valmorena. The Barbera is also used in the Rollone wine blended with Pinot Noir. The winery also offers a Barolo, a Moscato, and a Roero Arneis.
