Azienda vinicola Gianni Doglia

Winery in Langhe, Monferrato, Moscato d'Asti, Barbaresco, Hills of Asti

About the Winery

In 1947 Eugenio Rivella, known as "Genio", after having worked as a sharecropper in a farmhouse in Castagnole delle Lanze, decided to buy it in order to realize his dream: to vinify the grapes coming from his own lands. He was supported by his youngest daughter, Marisa: enterprising and optimistic, Marisa was her father's right-hand hand and still represents, thanks to her experience, the soul of the company.

In the 80s the company was entrusted to his son-in-law Bruno, who, together with his wife, continued the family business. Gianni Doglia, son of Marisa and Bruno, after his specialized studies, began in the year 2000 to deal directly with the continuation of the enological history of the Doglia house. In 2001 Gianni vinified Moscato d'Asti for the first time from the family-owned vineyards and began to write the new pages of the family business book.

About the Wines

MOSCATO D'ASTI: An excellent dessert wine that pairs perfectly with dry pastries and fruit tarts; the pairing with cured meats and cheeses is more provocative. MOSCATO D'ASTI CASA DI BIANCA: A versatile wine. Ideal as an original aperitif with savory meats and spicy cheeses, or at the end of the meal with dessert.

GRIGNOLINO: Aromas of geranium, rose, and wild strawberries, with hints of white pepper over time. Fresh taste with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste. Particularly suitable for aperitifs, summer appetizers, and pasta dishes. It will surprise you when paired with fried fish. BARBERA D'ASTI BOSCO DONNE: A large and rich bouquet featuring blackberry and cherry; it pairs with ease with almost all traditional Piedmontese dishes.

GENIO: A rich fragrance with floral tones and hints of undergrowth, raspberry, and plum. Enveloping, warm, and round on the palate, the result of an elegant balance between freshness and body. NIZZA: Sharp and elegant with hints of red fruits and ripe cherry. Structured, broad, and velvety, it is ideal for red meat, game, or well-aged cheeses.

Passion in their work...
It was our first tasting experience: a family-run winery that showed passion and professionalism.
Definitely to be recommended and to do again!

Gianni Doglia Winery - a wonderful experience
We stumbled upon this winery, which we knew nothing about, by chance on the web.
Located in a magnificent spot on top of the Asti hills, we were wonderfully welcomed by the very courteous Paola, who explained to us the history of the winery, the products they make, and the procedures for harvesting and producing Barbera and Moscato.
All this was followed by the wine tasting (accompanied by excellent cheeses and salami) which enchanted and won us over.
We highly recommend this experience for the courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism of those who welcomed us, as well as for the absolute quality of the wines.
Truly great

Relaxation and taste
I was at the Gianni Doglia winery with 12 other people to celebrate a friend's bachelorette party.
The experience was excellent as the owners managed to make us feel at ease, letting us decide both the timing and the structure of the visit.
The girl who welcomed us was very kind and helpful.
The wines were excellent and served in the right amount with some delicious snacks: salami, cheeses, and breadsticks.
The location has a beautiful view of the vineyards and the hills of Castagnole delle Lanze.
