About the Wines
Barone a Prato offers a collection of wines that embody the essence of Trentino's unique terroir. Our iconic Pinot Nero "Castelsegonzano" has been a cornerstone of our winery since 1885, representing elegance and complexity that reflect our deep connection to the land. This wine is a true expression of Trentino's winemaking tradition, offering a rich and nuanced experience with every sip.
Another highlight is the Cabernet "dello Scalco", produced from vines that have thrived for over fifty years. This wine showcases refinement and structure, a testament to the winemaking expertise passed down through generations.
The Gewürztraminer "559 LuLu" offers a captivating sensory journey with its intoxicating aroma and rich, enveloping taste. The vineyards at the foot of the Segonzano castle imbue this wine with a distinctive and alluring character, making it a standout in our collection.
Our Chardonnay "SOL" is a sophisticated interpretation of the region’s volcanic terroir, with its pronounced minerality and complex aromatic profile, perfectly balancing tradition and modernity.

Both bottles were very enjoyable, with the cheeses and Italian meats which complemented each other.
It is such an amazing way to enjoy a
Picnic. It was a beautiful sunny day and being at a foot of a castle over looking amazing vineyards is a great way to end an afternoon.

Paolo is a lovely man but can’t speak or understand any English. It would have being lovely to hear about the wine we were going to drink.
So make it clear when booking if you are English.
