About the Wines
Bodegas Calvente produces a range of distinctive wines that reflect both the uniqueness of its vineyards and the singular character of the Costa Granadina. Among its most remarkable creations is a 100% Moscatel de Alejandría, crafted in a completely dry style — a pioneering wine and the first of its kind in history. Made from century-old vines, this wine stands out for its elegance, aromatic complexity, and the surprising freshness that the coastal climate imparts to the variety.
The winery also elaborates red wines from vines aged between 70 and 80 years, whose low yields and deep root systems contribute to concentration, structure, and remarkable depth. These old vines are the foundation of wines with strong identity and a clear sense of place.
In addition, Bodegas Calvente works with varieties such as Pinot Noir and Petit Verdot, which develop distinctive nuances under the unique microclimate of the region. The influence of the Mediterranean, the altitude of the vineyards, and the mineral soils shape wines with differentiated profiles — balancing ripeness with freshness, and power with finesse — resulting in singular expressions that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
