About Winery and Wines
My name is Federico Sambinello, and for almost thirty years, I ran a company that was one of Italy’s leading luxury fashion brands. After bringing it to maturity, I decided to sell it to the second-largest group in Italy, specialising in the acquisition of production companies. It was a turning point: I felt the need to build something more authentic, to return to the tangible, to the land.
That’s how Cà Vendalis was born — first a dream, then a living reality. It all started with the vineyards and extra virgin olive oil of the Colli Euganei, and from there grew a project that combines agricultural production, wine tourism, and hospitality.
In fact, the story begins a few years earlier. In 2018, I founded Agri Earth SAS, a company of around forty hectares dedicated to cereals. Only in 2024 did I acquire an estate in Faedo di Cinto Euganeo, in one of the most beautiful locations in the Colli Euganei, and from there, Cà Vendalis took shape: the most personal soul of an agricultural journey that today blends wine, olive oil, and hospitality.
Here, every vine is cared for day by day, the harvest is entirely manual, and production is intentionally limited — I prefer a small number of carefully made bottles to a large quantity without identity. Beside me is Valentina, my wife, who runs the kitchen, offering simple, authentic dishes inspired by the flavours of the Colli Euganei.
Soon we will also open three rooms for those who want to experience the hills up close: listening to the silence of the morning, watching the light shift among the olive trees, and breathing the fresh, clean air of the hills.
I did not come from an agricultural background. I come from curiosity and a passion for learning. My experience as an entrepreneur taught me the importance of organisation and long-term vision. Today, these skills help me build a sustainable farm, based on respect, precision, and consistency.
In recent years, I have completed courses in wine tasting, agritourism management, wine tourism, and olive oil tourism, as well as training on the responsible use of plant protection products. I have also completed the PPL (Small Local Productions) course, which will allow us to expand our range of artisanal products linked to the Veneto region.
The philosophy is simple: do things well, with respect and continuity.
Cà Vendalis is also an invitation to slow down. Here, nature sets the pace: the wind through the vines, the scent of the earth after the rain, the changing light throughout the day. Visitors discover a real place, where wine is enjoyed slowly, and every glass tells the story of a piece of the hills.
My dream is for Cà Vendalis to become a benchmark for quality and authenticity, while remaining a human, sincere place, where every detail reflects respect, care, and passion.
Luce Nascente – Rosso Colli Euganei DOC
Luce Nascente is the first wine bottled by Cà Vendalis, symbolising new beginnings and a conscious choice driven by passion for the land. This Rosso Colli Euganei DOC expresses enthusiasm and determination, with strength and elegance. The watercolour label depicts a flowering dandelion, a visual metaphor for rebirth, its bright tones evoking dawn full of possibilities.
Made from a Bordeaux-style blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Merlot is harvested between 10–15 September and the Cabernet Sauvignon at the end of the month. Green thinning leaves 10–12 clusters per vine, while hand-harvested grapes preserve their integrity. Fermentation involves gentle mass recomposition and daily delestage, followed by soft pressing and storage, with racking after 15 days. Bottled the following year, the wine develops complexity and showcases the unique character of the Colli Euganei.
Raggio Fiorito – Merlot DOC (Single Varietal)
Raggio Fiorito celebrates a fully blossomed flower, symbolising maturity and beauty. The harmonious watercolour label reflects the Merlot’s full-bodied, elegant character. Made from 100% Merlot, the grapes are hand-harvested in early September after careful selection and green thinning to ensure limited yield and maximum quality. The must ferments with the skins at 24°C for 6–8 days, developing aromatic intensity and structure, then gently pressed and rested until bottling the following year. A harmonious and intense Merlot, expressing purity and refinement.
Globo di Sogni – Manzoni Bianco
The Globo di Sogni label shows a stylised dandelion in watercolour. Its spherical, light shape evokes harmony and potential, reflecting the freshness and elegance of the Manzoni Bianco. Harvested in early September, the grapes maintain lively acidity, ideal for balanced fermentation. After gentle pressing, the must ferments at 17°C for 8–10 days, then rests in tanks until bottling between February and March. A refined white wine, fresh and elegant, expressing the essence of the Colli Euganei.
Alito di Vento – Prosecco DOC
Alito di Vento completes the visual story of Cà Vendalis. The dandelion releases its seeds into the wind, alongside three floating glasses of Prosecco, celebrating joy and the present moment. Made from Glera grapes, the Prosecco DOC undergoes a two-month sparkling process. After crushing and pressing, the must ferments at 17°C for 6–8 days before spumantisation and bottling. Bright, light, and celebratory, this wine carries the promise of a moment to savour, like bubbles dancing freely in the glass.
