Cantina Salvan - Vigne del Pigozzo
(Winery in Padua)
Provides 2 wine tastings and winery visit from €32.00
Below the imposing Castello del Catajo, a little road takes you down from the State Road to an aristocratic country house whose buildings and trachyte courtyard remind you of the Salvan family’s age-old passion for the land. Here you will find our winery, and our vineyards lie all around. This is where – since 1914 - the “Pigozzo” wines have been made: generous wines that warm one’s heart and delight one’s spirit. More than 70,000 vines, lined up and embracing one another in long rows, determine the shape of our fields and pathways. In our soils, it is especially red grape varieties that have found an ideal habitat: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. But for some years now we have also grown local vines that were familiar to our forefathers, such as Pattaresca, Turchetta, and Gatta: cultivars that are now forgotten, but perhaps still have something to say even today. Only happy vines produce good grapes from which to make young, lively wines that are capable of maturing and becoming wise with age. For this reason, we work hard to take care of and respect the environment around us and our vines. Spraying is kept to a minimum, and the nutrition of the vines is ensured by mowing and plowing in the grass between the rows. No herbicides are used. Alongside the vineyards hedges and trees help to preserve biodiversity and guarantee a suitable habitat for the local animal life: hares, pheasants, birds, and insects are all a part of the local ecosystem.
Vigna Ròda di Strazzacappa Gianni
(Winery in Padua)
Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €17.00
Gianni, Elena, Giulia, Alice, and Ettore. Vigna Ròda is a family-owned estate that has always been rooted in the vineyard, surrounded by the unique landscape of the Euganean Hills. Known as the “hills of Venice,” these volcanic “islands” rise majestically from the “sea” of the Po Valley.
This natural spectacle is best viewed from the estate’s west-facing location in Cortelà, the smallest hamlet of the municipality of Vo’, in the province of Padua. The sunsets often create a display so captivating that it compels admiration. Each season brings different colors and scents to this ancient village, which dates back to before the year 1000. The origin of the village's name is still debated—whether from “Cultellatus,” a tool for leveling the land or from “Curtis-lata,” meaning Large Court.
Here, time is marked by the sound of bells, the noises of nature, and traditional, environmentally friendly practices. Synthetic products are used minimally, if at all. This careful approach is always rewarded in the cellar, where healthy grapes arrive after the harvest, making it possible to minimize intervention during winemaking.
At Vigna Ròda, it’s easy to spot family members among the vineyards, in the cellar, or welcoming guests for a guided tasting. There is a shared eagerness to introduce visitors to the estate’s origins, philosophy, and anecdotes about its history—first as a family, and then as a winery. (Excluding Ettore, who is still a little too young to join in!)

Dieci Prese
(Winery in Padua)
Provides 2 wine tastings and winery visit from €35.00
X PRESE is a family-owned winery located in the scenic countryside of Venice, a region deeply connected to water management and agricultural innovation. The estate’s history dates back to the early 19th century, when Gaetano Testa, an ancestor of the Putti family, worked on hydraulic projects under the Austrian government. The winery’s name, X PRESE, derives from “Prese,” a term referring to the sections of land served by a single hydraulic pump. The current estate is situated on what was the tenth Presa, a symbol of the land's rich history.
In the early 1900s, the Putti family inherited the estate and introduced agronomic innovations, shaping it into a forward-thinking, sustainable winery. Today, Mario Putti, a professor of environmental sciences at the University of Padua, continues this tradition of innovation and sustainability. Alongside his daughters and nephews, Mario leads the winery with a deep respect for the land and a passion for preserving its natural beauty. Ca' Lustra Di Zanovello Franco & C. s.s. Società Agricola
(Winery in Padua)
Ca' Lustra is a path in a territory that isn't famous nor celebrated.
It is this seeming poverty that pushed the people working in it to discover its natural but concealed richness. The land has its times, and it is far more tenacious than anyone who steps over it, therefore our work is "with" the land; generous or arid land, but always with a strong temper.
Carefully observing and supporting it allows us to savor its nature, through scents and flavors generated by the interaction of the plants with its forming elements, always different, in each single field.
With a humble and passionate effort in each step of the producing process, we grow 25 hectares of vineyards and 15 of chestnut woods, olives and grazing. Everything is led by Franco and Marco Zanovello, both in the vineyards and in the cellar, with crucial help from various contributors, highly motivated in producing quality and satisfaction.
Most significant results, in line with the natural inclination of our territory, come from Merlot, Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon, Moscato Bianco and Fior d'Arancio, but also Manzoni Bianco, Chardonnay, Tocai and Garganega give constant gratifications.
Besides, for our territory's sake, we are strengthening our tests with some ancient local vines, in particular Pinella and Pedevenda among whites, Turchetta and Corbinella among reds.
Maeli Wine
(Winery in Padua)
The identity of the territory, which has always been at the center of the research of Maeli Wines, has proven its great potential when planted with the Yellow Muscat grape variety which here is known as Fior D’Arancio. The origin of their soil is volcanic, rich in trachyte, chalk, and clay that in their vineyard are mixed with marl and loam. This is where the name Maeli comes from. This magnificent National Park in the Euganean Hills, which soars up as if by miracle in the heart of Veneto, plays host to the Pirio hill, 230 meters a.s.l., a fascinating place for its abundance of flora and fauna, for its 180-degree panorama of Venice on one side and the Dolomites on the other, but above all for the unique characteristics of the ground made up of a layer of marl penetrating to a depth of 11 meters.
Azienda agricola Giacomo Salmaso
(Winery in Padua)
Since 1935 the Salmaso family has a long experience of farmers and winemakers. A special thought is aimed at Giacomo, who in the '60s decided the wine turning of the company. Today, the farm business Giacomo Salmaso, which is owned by the family Diego Salmaso, works 30 hectares of vineyard, located in the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills and in the zone of production of DOC grapes in Euganean Hills. Here where everything speaks of quality, from farming methods up to the winemaking process, Diego Salmaso blends the experience of the past with modern technology creating authentic pearls of wine.
Fattoria Quota 101
(Winery in Padua)
We are between the Euganei Hills, in Torreglia, just outside Padua. Straight from the start we fell in love with this place and our commitment has always been that of making good wine, in the absolute respect of the territory and environment.
Every choice at the winery follows the concepts of sustainability and respect for the environment. A care that made us achieve the Biodiversity Friend certification, the acknowledgement for the safeguard of biodiversity in agriculture supported by the Department of agricultural, food and forest policies. We were the first Padua winery to achieve this certification. To act within biodiversity means to let a vineyard grow in a mosaic of different environments, like olive trees and woods, a rich and well-balanced environment that guarantees fewer treatments to vineyards. Biodiversity was the first step followed by the launch of the biological conversion procedure.
Alongside these sustainable choices in the vineyards we e been busy renovating the winery. The grapes we pick require the best tools, so we decided to restructure the place where our wines are born and rest. Between stainless steel barrels and oak tonneaus.
Cantina La Mincana-Dal Martello
(Winery in Padua)
Wine is bottled poetry…… Robert Louis Stevenson
Ca'Orologio
(Winery in Padua)
On the gentle slopes of the Euganei Hills, amongst the vineyards, olive groves and woodland, in the magical surroundings of a Venetian 16th century villa, I cultivate vines and produce wine using natural methods. I make my wine simply by following the grape fermentation to produce a wine that does not necessarily have to be similar to the last one, but that will definitely be really good.
The Ca’Orologio winery business developed mainly from the love Nicola and I share for farming and country life. Both of us grew up in the city, I in Treviso and he in Padua, and when we were children we couldn’t wait to spend the summer in the country with our grandparents. The fond memories that have never faded convinced us that when we “grew up” we would want the same for our children.
I love wine and good food, and my ambitious mission is create a red wine that is the ultimate expression of the place I love and where I work: the Euganean Hills.
I do a job I love and my professional progress in the farming world has aroused incredible passion in me, so it’s often difficult for me understand where work stops and pleasure begins.
During the winter, when the vines rest, there is all the time to make plans for the coming harvest. I always hope it will be special, the best, a blank sheet on which to write the story of Ca’Orologio, clean, without scribbling or erasures. Then, from budbreak onwards, the relationship with the vineyard becomes totally engrossing and decisions for the best interpretation of the harvest are bound inextricably to seasonal trends, right up to the vital decision: the date of the harvest!
Borin Vini E Vigne S.S.A. Di Gianni Dott.Borin E C.
(Winery in Padua)
The modern winery plant at Monticelli guarantees that the specially selected grapes, after being harvested by hand, undergo the best possible winemaking practices in order to bring out their full varietal characteristics. The positive influence of the area’s soils and mild climate also make a major contribution to this process.
Ca' del Colle
(Winery in Padua)
Ca’ del Colle is located in a natural amphitheater southwest of the Euganean Hills precisely in Vo’ (Padua), in a territory of great viticulture. The winery was established as a natural continuation and expansion of Facchin winery. The reason for this investment was the desire to give a new and younger edge to the original brand. With the installation of bottling and labeling plants we were able to gain a total control of the production wine chain; So as to aim for a greater dynamism, speeding up the entire process and improving more and more the quality of the product offered to the consumer.
In the history of the family Facchin, wines and vineyards have always been the cornerstones of the life of its components. In the sixties, the founder Armido Facchin decided to entrust the management of the company to his sons Enrico and Renato who have managed to combine the old work of the land and the cultivation of the vine with different and new processing techniques of vinification of the precious nectar of the Hills, the grape. Such precious product, in addition to being sold in the area of Veneto and in many other regions of Italy, it is also exported abroad, especially in the United States and Norway. There are numerous prizes won by the wines of the company, one of the most prestigious is Oscar d’Or wine competition Douja of Asti ,obtained from Cabernet Reserve 1999.
