Cantina Marco Wolf
(Winery in Trento DOC, Valsugana)
About Winery and Wines
In the heart of Trentino, on the slopes of Lagorai, Cantina Marco Wolf was born—a dream shared between father and son. The journey began in 2012 with the planting of the first Chardonnay vines, an ambitious project aimed at creating something that would stand the test of time.
Six years later, in 2018, this dream took form with the release of the first wine. Elegant and refined, it was bottled under the name Wolf, marking a significant milestone in the estate’s history. From a modest beginning of just 800 bottles of a single grape variety, dedication and passion have driven Cantina Marco Wolf to expand its production to over 5,000 bottles, showcasing four distinct grape varieties: the historic Chardonnay, a vibrant Sauvignon, an intense Pinot Noir, and a captivating Pinot Noir Rosé—each expressing the unique character of the region in its own way.
Over time, Cantina Marco Wolf has become synonymous with quality and authenticity, a winery that evolves while staying true to its founding vision: to create wines that celebrate the richness and diversity of the Trentino terroir. Each bottle of Wolf carries a story of passion and dedication, encapsulating the values that define the winery—love for the land, attention to detail, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence. Every drop is a tribute to this incredible journey, a testament to the deep-rooted connection between tradition and innovation.
Cantina Marco Wolf cultivates three grape varieties—Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir—with a deep commitment to quality and precision. Each vineyard is carefully designed and studied to optimize grape production, ensuring that every wine reflects the unique characteristics of its terroir.
The seven Chardonnay vineyards, located between 400m and 729m above sea level, are harvested separately, with each plot vinified individually to preserve its distinct expression. Fermentation takes place in oak barriques, where the wine ages for one year, followed by an additional three months in béton fass tanks before bottling.
The Pinot Noir originates from vineyards in Castelnuovo and Carzano. The first fermentation occurs in open barriques, followed by aging in new oak barrels for one year. After bottling, the wine rests for another year in the bottle before being released, allowing it to develop complexity and elegance.
The Sauvignon is planted in Telve di Sopra and Telve, an unconventional yet exciting experiment for Valsugana. This wine stands out for its rich aromatics, minerality, and salinity. It opens with notes of tomato leaf, followed by vibrant hints of peach, grapefruit, and pomegranate, offering a dynamic and expressive profile.
At Cantina Marco Wolf, each step of the winemaking process is guided by dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence, crafting wines that tell the story of their land with every sip.
