CANTINA ZANELLO
About the Winery
We are in Rosignano Monferrato, surrounded by the beautiful hills of Monferrato Casalese, an area recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014 for its importance as a cultural wine landscape in the interaction between man, vineyard and tradition. Monferrato is the perfect and sought-after location for all lovers of wine and Slow Tourism.
Since 1900 and for five generations now, the Zanello family has owned the entire property, which has always been characterized by the production of wine, also demonstrated by the recognition of the silver medal of the Chamber of Labor of Asti in 1898. But it was from 1920 until the end of the 1950s that grandfather Angelo Zanello developed its production and potential, acquiring land and expanding the vineyards over time with new rows.
In the 1960s, when many landowners left their farms to work in factories, the Zanello family decided to resist and kept the property intact, continuing the traditions of our ancestors.
Currently, our company area has 40 hectares of property, of which about 7 are vineyards and the remainder divided between arable land, orchard, vegetable garden and a small olive grove.
We also offer to our guests rooms for short or longer stay and a restaurant with local food.
About the Wines
The selection includes native vines, mainly red, originating from this highly suited territory: Grignolino, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Freisa and Bonarda.
The desire to also include white wine in the range led to the inclusion of new vineyards of Chardonnay, Arneis, Sauvignon Blanc and Moscato, adding to the labels also references of Metodo Martinotti sparkling wine.
