Cantine Merinum Vieste

Winery in Gargano

About the Winery

Cantine Merinum is a winery born from a deep passion for the land and the art of winemaking, rooted in the enchanting region of Vieste, at the foot of the Umbra Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The story of our winery is intertwined with the memories of Cinzia Quitadamo, a young viticulturist who transformed her childhood experiences in her grandfather's vineyard into a lifelong dedication to creating exceptional wines. Cinzia's journey began with a simple yet profound memory of a hot summer afternoon in her grandfather's vineyard, where the sights, sounds, and scents of the land ignited her love for wine.

After completing her studies, Cinzia returned to her beloved Vieste and acquired a vineyard, where she brought her dream to life by founding Cantine Merinum. Here, we cultivate native vines such as Bombino Bianco, Nero di Troia, Malvasia Nera, and Sussumaniello, each of which tells the story of our origins and the rich heritage of Apulia. At Cantine Merinum, we are dedicated to crafting wines that not only reflect the unique terroir of our land but also evoke the timeless beauty of the region. Visitors to our winery can expect to be immersed in a sensory journey, where the essence of Apulia comes alive through our wines and the stories they tell.

About the Wines

At Cantine Merinum, our wines are a true expression of the land, crafted with a deep respect for tradition and a commitment to quality. Located in the heart of Vieste, in the shadow of the Umbra Forest, our vineyards are home to some of the region’s most cherished indigenous grape varieties. Our wines are a celebration of the unique terroir of Apulia, offering a rich palette of flavors and aromas that speak to the history and soul of the region.

Bombino Bianco: This indigenous white grape variety produces a wine that is fresh and vibrant, with crisp acidity and delicate floral notes. It’s a perfect reflection of the coastal breezes and sunny climate of Vieste.

Nero di Troia: A powerful and structured red wine, Nero di Troia is known for its deep color, robust tannins, and rich flavors of dark fruit and spice. It is a true embodiment of the rugged landscape of the region.

Sussumaniello: This lesser-known variety is gaining recognition for its unique character. Our Sussumaniello is a bold and intense wine, with a complex profile of ripe berries, plums, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs.

Malvasia Nera: A beautifully aromatic red wine, Malvasia Nera offers a bouquet of ripe cherries, blackberries, and subtle spices, with a smooth and velvety finish. It is a wine that captures the essence of Apulia’s rich winemaking tradition.

Each bottle from Cantine Merinum is crafted with care and passion, offering wine lovers a true taste of Apulia’s heritage and the enduring love for the land that defines our winemaking philosophy.

Enjoyed the full wine tour with multiple tasty wines!
We enjoyed the wines (all of them) and we truly enjoyed trying your white, rose and red wines. We also had the food experience included so the food was very generous.
This guide was a man who was very nice, welcoming but one opportunity we see is his English level.
This wine experience is something we recommend! Everything was very tasty. The surrounding was very beautiful.
Provide with more detailed information such as time schedule (even include the pool possibility and the time that guests can enjoy it before tour start), what will occur in the tour, perhaps which wines (overall or in details and the food as well/what to expect), higher English level

A wonderful experience
Excellent wines and an equally excellent pairing with typical local products. Cinzia, very helpful, managed to convey to us all her passion for her land. Very much appreciated and highly recommended.

Wonderful experience
The tour was very interesting, the guys are very young and full of enthusiasm and through this experience they conveyed all their passion to us. It's worth spending some time in this small winery surrounded by the splendid landscapes of Vieste and the Umbra Forest, where a very knowledgeable and thorough Cinzia will welcome you.
We really liked the three types of wine offered, especially the red, but perhaps it would have been preferable to change glasses between one type and the next.

Amazing
Where to begin!
Cynthia is very passionate about her vineyard (her little baby) and she should be!
The wines are delicious!
We loved the tour on the vineyard with all the extra information and had a beautiful sunset on top of it!

You can feel the love and passion for the grapes that Cynthia has.
You can taste the wines are made with love, knowledge and perfect timing!
Also Cynthia has a lot of information about the wines, which makes the tasting a lot more interesting.

We booked the golden tasting, with the food, which is delicious as well!

Would definatly recommend to do the wine tasting and take the tour on the vineyard!
Take the tour on the vineyard, Cynthia will tell you a lot more about the growing process and the different kind of grapes!
