About Winery and Wines
Tenuta Mariani encompasses around 20 hectares in the scenic hills between Massarosa and Lucca, extending to the shores of Lake Massaciuccoli and the coastline near Torre del Lago. Founded in 2010 by Ido Mariani, the estate is dedicated to producing distinctive sparkling wines, with vineyards strategically located to maximize the unique terroirs of each area. The vineyards by Lake Massaciuccoli are used for Classic Methods and White Wines, while the coastal vines near Torre del Lago produce the Charmat Method, known as "Vini di Spiaggia." The hills of Lucca contribute to Classic Methods and Red Wines. The estate also produces high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Massarosa Hills. Adhering to organic farming principles, Tenuta Mariani emphasizes sustainability and quality, working with dedication to craft wines that are both typical of the region and uniquely expressive of the Tuscan Coast's character.
Tenuta Mariani offers a diverse range of wines that showcase both local and international grape varieties.
The Classic Method Sparkling Wines include Segreto Brut, Segreto Fut de Chene, and Segreto Fut de Chene Rosè. For the Charmat Method, the selections are Segreto SabbiaMare, Segreto SabbiaMare Rosè, Segreto SabbiaMare Malvasia Demisec, and Stile Segreto. The Still Wines feature Segreto Rosso Merlot, Segreto del Castello Pinot Nero, Segreto Bianco Vermentino, Segreto del Castello Traminer, and Segreto Rosè. The estate cultivates a blend of local varieties like Vermentino, Ciliegiolo, and Sangiovese, alongside international grapes such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, and Traminer, all produced with a commitment to organic farming.
