About the Winery

Celler Grau i Grau is a family-owned winery located in the small and distinctive Pla de Bages region, in the heart of Catalonia, Spain. Although the winery was officially founded in 1966 by Mr. Jaume Grau i Grau, our roots date back to 1885, when earlier generations of our family were already cultivating vineyards and crafting wine for their own table and for the local community.

A defining moment in our history came with the third generation — our grandfather, together with our grandmother — who courageously believed in the potential of the wine market at a time of uncertainty. With vision and determination, they chose to look forward, investing in quality winemaking under the Pla de Bages Denomination of Origin, which at the time was one of the most important winegrowing areas in the region. Their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence laid the foundation for everything we are today.

Now led by the fifth generation, we continue to farm our 25 hectares of estate vineyards with the same passion and forward-thinking mindset. Every bottle reflects more than a century of resilience, ambition, and dedication to producing wines that honor our origin while embracing the future.

About the Wines

Today, the fifth generation proudly farms organically 25 hectares of estate vineyards, honoring the values passed down to us: hard work, respect for the land, and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Every bottle we produce carries not only the character of our terroir, but also the strength of five generations united by passion and purpose.

What truly makes us unique is our exceptional location. Our vineyards are situated at 600 meters above sea level, where significant temperature differences between day and night during the ripening season allow the grapes to develop remarkable natural acidity and balance. This natural freshness gives our wines structure, vibrancy, and outstanding aging potential.

However, what truly defines our identity is Picapoll — the jewel of our region and our crown variety.

We are proud to be part of its revival and to showcase its true potential. Alongside Picapoll, we also work with other native varieties such as Sumoll (red and white), Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon blanc, Merlot and Syrah.
