Clos Roussely
(Winery in Loire Valley, Touraine)
About Winery and Wines
Clos Roussely is located in a small village, in the heart of the famous Loire Valley châteaux. Spanning 15 hectares of cellars, meadows, and forests, including 9 hectares of vines, the winery is in itself a symbol of "l'art de vivre à la française."
The Roussely family has been in Angé since the Renaissance, and Anatole Roussely purchased the Clos in 1918. The following generations were respectively a wine distiller, a winegrower, and a winemaker. The current owner and winemaker, Vincent Roussely, has been transforming the vines and caves since 2000, with the dream of operating an organic and biodynamic winery in the same place run by his family for over 100 years.
Come visit our winery to see the lovely view from our vines and farm, situated just above our cellars that were hand-dug out 300 years ago, meet the team that's overflowing with passion, and, of course, taste a selection of our wines representative of the Loire Valley.
Clos Roussely possesses an expansive wine list, ranging from dry, fruity Sauvignons to more experimental whites like the Irréductible line that has been aged in clay amphoras, as well as light, fruity Gamays to more full-bodied reds, showcasing the wonderful grape varietals that are central to this region. Clos Roussely also produces a rosé, an orange, and multiple sparkling wines perfect for any occasion.
