Colle Uncinano

About the Winery

Colle Uncinano winery was founded in May 2005 from the dream of Campanella Claudio and his wife Lorella, who had long envisioned producing their own wine. A dream they had kept in their hearts for years—creating a wine where passion and experience, imagination and hard work would take shape in a single bottle.

It took at least two years before they could bottle their first wines, but in July 2007, they proudly released the first bottles of Soviano Regale and Cruor Nobile, both from the 2005 vintage. These fine wines required proper aging before being sold, and to ensure optimal refinement, they decided to use part of their Il Molino Antico farmhouse for bottle aging. With its thick 17th-century walls, the farmhouse provided a constant temperature, making it an ideal space for aging their freshly produced wines.

Today, with the support of their children, Francesco and Antonella, Colle Uncinano produces around 65,000 bottles per year. Their wines have earned numerous awards, a testament to the family's dedication and commitment to quality winemaking.

About the Wines

At Colle Uncinano, high-quality winemaking is a journey that begins in a fertile vineyard, rich in essential nutrients and carefully nurtured to produce a truly exceptional wine. The selection of the perfect location — perched on the ridge of a hill and nestled along the slopes of the Martani Mountains — is the result of meticulous study and centuries-old peasant traditions passed down through generations.

This ideal setting creates a unique microclimate, perfectly suited to the vines' needs. It ensures optimal ripening of the grapes, enhancing their sugar concentration and polyphenol richness, both of which are essential for crafting fine wines. At Colle Uncinano, it is believed that great wine is always the result of a vineyard thriving in its perfect habitat, tended to with care and dedication at every stage of its life cycle.

The estate cultivates a selection of prestigious grape varieties, including Trebbiano Spoletino, Grechetto, Sauvignon, Sagrantino, Sangiovese, and Merlot. These varieties allow Colle Uncinano to produce wines with remarkable aging potential, whether in stainless steel or oak barrels, resulting in wines that are both full-bodied and intensely aromatic, embodying the richness of the region's terroir.
