About Winery and Wines

Poggio Ridente embodies a story that unfolds across generations, with roots deeply embedded in the land, nature, and, in particular, the world of wine. Every grape berry encapsulates the profound dedication passed down from generation to generation.

Growing up within the vineyards shaped the foundations of this reality, with a viticultural calling passed down from grandparents to children and grandchildren. Even today, all family members are actively involved in this passion. Mrs. Cecilia Zucca, the company's founder, and her husband, a passionate enologist and her irreplaceable support, constitute the beating heart of operations. From their vision and tireless work, particularly from the constant commitment alongside the mother during every harvest, the respect for the land and the dedication that every single cluster requires has been learned. This family heritage represents not only a starting point but the solid foundation upon which the entire family continues to build the future of Poggio Ridente.

The fortune of having found and sharing this passion is immense. With the presence of siblings, including Romolo and in particular Maria Sole, who has embarked on the same course of study and shares a deep love for the world of wine, with a strong inclination for cellar management. The presence of distinct figures, each with a specific focus – one on the vineyard and the other on the cellar – is considered a precious resource and a great potential for the future of Poggio Ridente.

Together, with the same passion passed down and lived daily, the family honors tradition and promotes innovation, continuing to write the history of Poggio Ridente. To complete this authentic experience, Poggio Ridente is delighted to present "Vallìa," the new terrace dedicated to wine tourism, an ideal space to immerse oneself in the beauty of the landscape and savor the fruits of our dedication.

Poggio Ridente is the name of the vineyard, managed under a biological farming system, where the vines find their ideal habitat. Here, established varieties such as Barbera d’Asti, Albarossa, and Nebbiolo thrive. The constant pursuit of excellence has also led to the planting of three hectares of new rows of Pinot Noir, Viognier, Sauvignon, and Riesling, further broadening the estate's expressive range.

Poggio Ridente's privileged position, located on a hilltop at 491 meters above sea level, confers unique pedoclimatic conditions upon the site, so much so that it is locally known as the "Riviera del Monferrato." This distinctive microclimate significantly contributes to the character and complexity of the wines produced.

From meticulously cultivated grapes, diverse and characterful wine expressions are born:

With Pinot Noir, Poggio Ridente produces an elegant and fresh Martinotti Method Sparkling Wine.

Nebbiolo forms the base for an Ancestrale Pét Nat wine, expressing its most authentic and vibrant nature.

A blend of Riesling, Viognier, and Sauvignon offers an additional dimension to the estate's white wines.

A 100% Viognier still white wine expresses the purity and varietal characteristics of this grape.

Barbera d'Asti Superiore and Albarossa are the protagonists of two structured labels, carefully aged in tonneaux to enhance their depth and aromatic complexity.

The offering is completed with a Viognier-based Vermouth, an innovative proposal that further enhances the versatility of this grape.

Each bottle of Poggio Ridente is an invitation to discover the purity of the territory, the passion for organic farming, and the innovation in winemaking techniques, promising an unforgettable sensory experience.
