Tenuta Santoro
About the Winery
Tenuta Santoro is located in Valle d'Itria, where time seems to have stood still, a crossroads of peoples and civilizations of which legends of demigods, good devils, brigands and great drinkers (and a few saints) still live on in the tales of the aziani - memory of the district.
The winemaking activity is conducted in the heart of Valle d'Itria, between Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Cisternino, in the same land chosen by the owner's ancestors to plant the first vineyards and that today Marco Emilio Santoro cultivates in the fifth generation.
About the Wines
At Tenuta Santoro, with the aim of creating an interacting agro-ecosystem conducive to the organic management of the entire farm, plots of different nature have been acquired over the years: woods, tree pastures, olive groves and arable land. Typical of the area is the red soil, poor in nitrogen, partially endowed with clay, silt and sand, rich in potassium and bolus. The karst subsoil and the area's significant temperature ranges favor quality wine production.

Very pleasant and intimate wine tasting
We visited part of their vineyards and the winery where they make the wines.
The place feels very welcoming and pleasant.
The wines were of very good quality and the appetizer was top-notch, prepared with a lot of care.
He let us stay for as long as we needed and the experience in general was very calm and pleasant.
Highly recommended!!
Relax in the Itria Valley
Estate in the heart of the Itria Valley, we felt pampered. I recommend it to those looking for a tranquil and quality experience.
Five stars for Marco, his dog Spank and the food
We chose the €45 option, which comes with snacks, and the food was brilliant. We asked for a few more cheese options and he accommodated us happily, no fuss at all.
We can't recommend it enough. Five stars, and we would absolutely do it again.
Grazie anchora, Marco!
Welcoming, friendly, delicious and interesting
We chose the €45 menu, 3 kinds of wine accompanied by taralli and olives, then the local cheese and cured meats platter, a real delight. Marco is a very friendly person and passionate about his work.
I thank him for the few tips he was able to give, for visiting pretty villages not too far away, not necessarily touristy ones.
Grazie Marco

An experience to repeat!
Marco accompanied us during the tour and the tasting and was extremely professional but also empathetic and down-to-earth.
He told us the story of his family and the evolution of his vineyard over the years.
We felt at home and it's an experience we will definitely repeat.
Thank you so much
For an even more impeccable experience, I recommend the June/September period to experience the harvest atmosphere even more.
