Amazing tour from a amazing guide! Loved the wines and the scenery! The homemade food was delicious! Someone of our group was glutenfree and they made special food for her which was amazing!

It was memorable experience. I would say a perfect blend of taste, authenticity, and culture — an experience I’d happily recommend to anyone who appreciates genuine winemaking.

A wonderful morning of wine tasting and a selection of italian foods. The food was outstanding. Lovely insight into the family history of the vineyard and the wine making process. Wine was gorgeous and we bought bottles at unbelieveable value !

Fantastisch!

Our Italian Wine Experience

This was a highlight of our visit to Puglia! Marco was not only a superb host, he is also a multigenerational keeper of his family’s legacy of tending the vineyards and producing the fruit of the vine for our pleasure. Marco’ has a deep knowledge of wine producing, in addition to his sparkling personality. We did not meet Signora of the house, however she left her most savory homemade snacks. A perfect experience in a relaxed setting not to be missed.

Tenuta Santoro

Wonderful experience at a small family owned winery where the owner’, Mark, shares his passion for his craft. Delicious wine and wonderful snacks, all home made by his wife.

It was like being welcomed into a friend’s home.

About Winery and Wines

Tenuta Santoro is located in Valle d'Itria, where time seems to have stood still, a crossroads of peoples and civilizations of which legends of demigods, good devils, brigands and great drinkers (and a few saints) still live on in the tales of the aziani - memory of the district.

The winemaking activity is conducted in the heart of Valle d'Itria, between Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Cisternino, in the same land chosen by the owner's ancestors to plant the first vineyards and that today Marco Emilio Santoro cultivates in the fifth generation.

At Tenuta Santoro, with the aim of creating an interacting agro-ecosystem conducive to the organic management of the entire farm, plots of different nature have been acquired over the years: woods, tree pastures, olive groves and arable land. Typical of the area is the red soil, poor in nitrogen, partially endowed with clay, silt and sand, rich in potassium and bolus. The karst subsoil and the area's significant temperature ranges favor quality wine production.
