Great experience, definitely would recommend! The owner welcomed us (we were a group of 10), took us to the vineyards, explained the story of the wine of the area, showed us the distillery and finally tried the wines of the winery, with some aperitive!
Book it!

I thoroughly recommend this wine experience. We learned a little about the area and conditions for producing wine, the importance and specifications for producing organic wine specifically and all that it entails, we heard the family story producing wine at the winery throigh the generations, we saw the machinery and equipment involved, and then we got to taste the 3 varieties. You can't miss the most delicious rose, and the red was the only red wine I've ever liked! All this was done in a easy to understand, non-jargonistic way. It was just the right length and all information was super interesting
No suggestions - it was all good!

Esperienza bellissima.

Sun and wine and a delightful host

This was an amazing little spit where we were greeted by the host who was an Italian of German origin. He was extremely enthusiastic and interested in what we had to say, but also what he told us was refreshing and enlightning. It's an organic farmer and explain to us. Why? Yes, chosenness path and wipe. His father and grandfather did likewise. The generation winery is a delight to visit. The wine was very good and the accompanying food was even better.
Make sure you set your GP.S so you can find this property, but once you get there sit on the patio and enjoy the food that the host prepares. We had the middle package, which was more than enough food for anybody.

Great tour of a bio Winery in Apulia

The host was very friendly, we shortly visited the vineyard and the processing lab where he nicely explained how they made their wines. Afterwards we got to taste three of their wines (white, rose & red) in combination with local foods.
Some more background and a walk through the vineyard could be a nice addition to the tour.

About Winery and Wines

Tenuta Santoro is located in Valle d'Itria, where time seems to have stood still, a crossroads of peoples and civilizations of which legends of demigods, good devils, brigands and great drinkers (and a few saints) still live on in the tales of the aziani - memory of the district.

The winemaking activity is conducted in the heart of Valle d'Itria, between Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Cisternino, in the same land chosen by the owner's ancestors to plant the first vineyards and that today Marco Emilio Santoro cultivates in the fifth generation.

At Tenuta Santoro, with the aim of creating an interacting agro-ecosystem conducive to the organic management of the entire farm, plots of different nature have been acquired over the years: woods, tree pastures, olive groves and arable land. Typical of the area is the red soil, poor in nitrogen, partially endowed with clay, silt and sand, rich in potassium and bolus. The karst subsoil and the area's significant temperature ranges favor quality wine production.
