Tenuta Celimarro
About the Winery
Located in Castrovillari, Calabria, our winery is rooted in the traditions of Southern Italy, where we cultivate 20 hectares of organic vineyards and 5 hectares of olive groves. Since our first planting in 2006, we have been dedicated to organic practices that ensure the purity of our wines and a deep connection to the terroir. In 2013, we produced our first 14,000 bottles of Magliocco, a red wine that reflects the essence of Calabria, with minimal external intervention to preserve the true character of the land and vines. Our first white wine, Greco Bianco, was introduced in 2014, followed by a rosé from Aglianico grapes in 2016. Today, our winery thrives under the passionate guidance of young winemaker Valerio Cipolla, who brings energy and innovation while staying true to our roots.
About the Wines
At the heart of our production are Calabrian native varieties such as Magliocco and Greco Bianco. Our Magliocco, the flagship of our winery, gained recognition in the 2019 edition of Vini Buoni d'Italia and has been praised in renowned wine guides such as Bibenda and Vitae. We also introduced Montonico, a white wine celebrated for its freshness and distinct local character. All our wines are crafted with meticulous care, starting from the vineyard, where we use the spurred cordon system to cultivate the highest quality grapes. Manual harvesting allows us to carefully select only the best bunches, ensuring the highest standards are met in the cellar. Our commitment to organic farming and respect for the environment is at the core of our winemaking philosophy, allowing us to produce wines that honor both the land and its rich traditions.
