Owned by the Fontana family since the 1960s, the estate spans 25 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards. Positioned near the banks of the Enza River, at an elevation of 105 meters above sea level, the land is perfectly suited for producing high-quality grapes. The unique climate and geological conditions in this region contribute to the exceptional quality of the wines. In the 1990s, Mr. Licinio Fontana, inspired by his travels through Burgundy, Tuscany, and Alto Adige, implemented strict production parameters aimed at creating premium wines. Though initially met with skepticism by other producers, Tenuta La Piccola has since become a reference point for those seeking to follow in Fontana’s footsteps.
