Villa Corniole winery
The Muller Thurgau was my preferred white. For reds I chose the Teroldego.

Passione e cortesia

About Winery and Wines
Villa Corniole was born in the Cembra valley, “land of heroic viticulture” Trentino Alto Adige. The history of Villa Corniole, a winery producing still and sparkling wines, comes from long ago, from generations of growers who have built and shaped, with commitment and integrity, one of the most striking landscapes of Trentino, the Cembra valley. In this alpine valley of unparalleled beauty and of great viticulture tradition, they produce extreme wines on a unique soil, which identify the mountain habitat. Ice and water shape the Adige valley and at the foot of the sunny cliffs of the Paganella and Monte Mezzacorona, the Rotaliana plateau, within the Borough of Mezzolombardo, it is a land rich of minerals thanks to the River Noce that rises from the Brenta Dolomites and brings down the valley the essential components. In this favored land the indigenous Teroldego variety, first D.O.C in Trentino, gained the title of Prince of Trentino wines; but also Lagrein and Pinot Grigio have found the perfect soil to best express their sensory characteristics. What guides us is the constant desire to innovate, the passion for viticulture, the determination and care for our land which, with its crucial terraces, returns harmonious visual views. Dry-stone walls, the connecting paths to the various vineyards, form and shape a landscape of rare alpine beauty: the picks of the Dolomites, forests and glimpses of rural life. The viticulture of the Cembra valley is a form of protection of the landscape, invaluable to the territory. The Pellegrini family are an ambassador of such beauty and majesty through work and care of the land in the production of Trentino wines. Looking up from the precise framework of the fields in the Rotaliana plateau, the sedimentary rocks of the Paganella and Monte Mezzacorona and the sinuous Avisian hills, remind us of the precious minerality and fertility of the plain of alluvial origins.
Ice, water and fire, the elements of the genius loci in the Cembra Valley in Trentino that make the Terroir unique. From the coral reefs that emerged in the Dolomites , to the volcanoes of the porphyritic platform , to the ice that shaped the hills overlooking the furrow carved by the Avisio stream , here is the ancestral energy that characterizes the Cembra Valley. The breadth of geological connotations, and the favorable microclimate of the Cembra Valley constitute the ideal environment for the cultivation of white grapes, in particular Müller-Thurgau , Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer and, as a red grape variety, also the Pinot Noir .
