Vinicola Attanasio
About the Winery
Vinicola Attanasio is a family-run winery in Salento, Puglia, where four generations have been dedicated to crafting wines that express the identity and rural heritage of the territory. Led today by father and son, the winery combines tradition, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for the land. The estate is surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean landscape of vineyards and olive groves, influenced by the nearby Ionian and Adriatic seas. Warm sea breezes and the unique local microclimate help shape grapes of remarkable richness, freshness, and aromatic depth.
Located in the southeastern corner of Puglia, Salento is a historic wine region with more than 2,500 years of viticultural heritage. Its sandy soils, rich in calcium carbonate, clay, limestone, volcanic ash, and marine sediments, create ideal conditions for producing expressive and full-bodied wines.
Vinicola Attanasio blends tradition with innovation, producing wines that balance elegance, authenticity, and a strong connection to the terroir. The winery welcomes visitors to discover its estate and enjoy experiences tailored to different needs and interests.
About the Wines
Vinicola Attanasio produces a varied selection of wines that reflect the diversity and character of Salento. The winery’s range includes red, rosé, white, sweet, and fortified wines, each crafted with care to highlight the richness of the territory.
The winemaking process begins with a careful selection of grapes from the finest vineyards in Salento, harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve quality and freshness. Fermentation takes place in large oak vats, helping maintain the authentic character of the wines while adding depth and structure. The winery uses both American oak barriques and French Allier oak barriques for aging, giving the wines distinctive complexity, elegance, and personality. The result is a portfolio that combines traditional Salento intensity with refined winemaking techniques.
The grape varieties cultivated and used by Vinicola Attanasio include Primitivo, Negroamaro, Aglianico, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Greco di Tufo. These varieties allow the winery to produce wines with strong identity, expressive aromas, and a clear connection to the Mediterranean landscape of Puglia.
