Voyager Estate
The Truffle & Wine Co.
(Bodega en Western Australia)
At the heart of Manjimup’s famed Seven Day Road is the home of Western Australia’s first truffière, The Truffle & Wine Co. Established in 1997, surrounded by vineyards, orchards and majestic rolling hills our estate produces rare and delicious black winter truffles (Tuber melanosporum) and award-winning cool climate wines.
The first distinctly aromatic truffle was unearthed on the 28th of July 2003, a perfect black winter truffle weighing 168 grams. Today, the estate is covered by 40 kilometres of truffle tree rows and 12 hectares of grapevines and is the largest producing truffière in the Southern Hemisphere.
Like our wines, our truffles are the result of soil, climate, farm management, passion and our overall philosophy of excellence. Our award-winning wines have earned a 5 star rating from James Halliday and our world-class truffles are favoured by the most exclusive Michelin Star Chefs and are featured on menus throughout Australia, Germany, Spain, Denmark, the UK, the USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
We invite you to experience the romance and indulgence of fine wine and truffles first hand by joining us at the cellar door or on an exciting truffle hunt.

Hackersley Estate Wines
(Bodega en Western Australia)
After early searches for good vineyard land in the Margaret River area in early 1997, Jeff and Kerry Ovens identified this little piece of paradise in the Ferguson Valley just south of Dardanup as the site for their vineyard and winery. The property was purchased from Jock Johnson after more than a hundred years as a dairy farm.
Jeff soon found willing partners in the Stacey and Hewitt families and they set about planning the vineyard with the aim of producing top quality wines (over long lunches overlooking the property's dam). Longtime mates from university days, the partners passion for good red wine was becoming too expensive to service with the only answer to make their own,….Stupid us.
Our only justification now is "quality of life"… "the pleasure of producing something worth its weight in gold" knowing that it also costs as much.
Rounding up their many friends from the city the partners set about planting the initial 15,000 rootlings (8 Ha) in September 1998.
Our friends worked feverishly over one weekend to plant 5,000 with the remainder planted under contract. Losses were minimal (
Burnside Organic Farm
(Bodega en Western Australia)
Jamie & Lara used to work in journalism and finance but decided, after having children, to change direction and establish Burnside Organic Farm. That was 18 years ago in 1997.
They have three young adult sons.
In the Margaret River community they are involved with the Margaret River Farmers’ Market, the local volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and teaching Permaculture courses at nearby Fair Harvest.
Lara & Jamie work full time on the property managing the farm and bungalows. They get seasonal help from their three sons and occasional Wwoofers (willing workers on organic farms).
The farm has been certified organic and biodynamic with ACO for over 14 years.
After 18 years of developing the property Lara & Jamie are self-sufficient in meat, eggs, vegetables, fruit, olive oil , honey and wine. Lara makes cheese from neighbour’s milk.
When relaxing they like to do anything that involves the natural outside environment or food and wine; surfing, stand up paddling, diving, mountain bike riding, walking, cooking and preserving food.
Rickety Gate Wines
(Bodega en Western Australia)
On the 1st January 2000 the Hubbard Family exchanged the hustle and bustle of the city for the pristine environment of Denmark. Their dream was to produce premium wines and to accomplish this they adopted a "No Compromises" ethos.
By late 2000 they had completed planting the vineyard to Merlot, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Hubbard's believe there is middle ground between organic and contemporary viticultural practices and have proven that by combining both disciplines sensibly, they can produce stunning fruit. Having planted the Estate Vineyard they then constructed an Estate Winery in which their winemaker Mr. John Wade has complete control throughout the winemaking process. James Halliday quotes John Wade as being "arguably the most experienced Winemaker in Western Australia".
Silverstream Wines
(Bodega en Western Australia)
The previous owners selected and developed the property in 1995, into a vineyard and an attractive country garden. Coming from New Zealand they name the property Silverstream after their hometown north of Wellington.
The picturesque undulating property boasts natural karri forests, fertile soils and ocean views. The Silverstream logo symbolises both vineyard and garden.
Initially, the grapes were harvested and sold on a grower contract basis. As new owners, they enjoyed selling their first harvest; however, a remaining eight rows of Chardonnay was left behind. With locals, these grapes were hand-picked and delivered to the local winery, who made their first wine – Silverstream Unwooded Chardonnay 2005
Our aim is to produce premium fruit resulting in cool climate single vineyard wines that express Denmark regionality.
Barton Jones Wines
(Bodega en Western Australia)
The vines at Barton Jones Wines are some of the oldest vines in the Geographe wine region, being planted in 1978.
The maturity of the vines is one aspect which plays an important role in the exceptional fruit quality that underpins the production of premium wines.
The 56 acre property includes plantings of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, semillon and chenin blanc, all well suited to the region’s climate and the well drained ironstone gravel soils which produce regionally expressive wine styles.
There is a hands-on approach to vineyard management, utilising traditional viticulture practices and minimal intervention. The vineyard is dry grown and has no requirement for irrigation, with all the grapes being handpicked and all the vines pruned by hand in the Winter months.
The aim is to start the wine making process with the best possible quality fruit to make premium wines which reflect the region.
McHenry Hohnen
(Bodega en Western Australia)
Since its inception McHenry Hohnen has had an unwavering focus on crafting site expressive wines. As our vines age and the soils continue to evolve, we see the individuality and beauty of the land continually developing in our wines.
Our wines are sourced from our family estate of three vineyards, all located in the southern part of the Margaret River Wine Region: Hazel’s Vineyard and Farm, Calgardup Brook Vineyard and Burnside Vineyard. For decades, our founder and owner Murray McHenry has been a leading proponent in pushing the viticultural boundaries of this pristine region. While our portfolio is grounded in Chardonnay and Bordeaux varieties, we are also well regarded for less traditional varieties for this region such as Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache, Mataro and Zinfandel.
We see our role as stewards of the land and have implemented organic farming practices for many years to create the optimal conditions for soil health and the quality of the grapes harvested. Our winemaking team craft wines that pay homage to the site of origin and use low impact techniques combined with an acute attention to detail to achieve the goal of the finest site specific wines.
Whilst the story of McHenry Hohnen is steeped in the history of the region, we look to the future with anticipation as our soil, vines and wines continue to evolve.
