"Essence" private half day tour of Prosecco Valdobbiadene from Treviso

This private half-day tour is designed to give you a clear introduction to the world of Prosecco and the UNESCO-listed hills of Valdobbiadene. The experience moves through two wineries with distinct approaches, helping you understand how denomination, vineyard location, and dosage change what you find in the glass.

Your day begins with a pickup in Treviso. The first stop is Rivaluce in San Pietro di Barbozza, a winery created by oenologist Anna Bertorelle. Her work is closely tied to the Glera grape and the steep, hand-tended vineyards of Valdobbiadene. You will visit the contemporary winery and its panoramic terrace, before a tasting of four Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines. This first tasting focuses on different styles like Extra Brut, Brut, and Extra Dry, showing how dosage affects the balance of freshness and fruit. The wines are served with Pan da Vin, traditional local crackers.

The second stop, Cartizze PDC, explores the top of the quality pyramid. This producer focuses exclusively on grapes from Cartizze, a small, 108-hectare cru that represents the most prestigious production zone in the territory. In the winery's panoramic tasting room, a sommelier will guide you through "The Pyramid," a tasting created to compare three different levels of the denomination. You will taste a Prosecco DOC, a Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, and a Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG side-by-side. This comparison makes the hierarchy clear, from the broad production area to the historic hills and finally the small cru. The tasting is paired with Piave Mezzano cheese, Major mountain cheese, breadsticks, and traditional Fregolotta cake.

After the visit, you will be driven back to Treviso.
