Winery Tour and Wine Tasting with Local Cheeses at Giannitessari in Alpone Valley
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at Giannitessari begins with a welcome from Sara, a member of the family who personally oversees the winery's hospitality. She will guide you through the winery’s original structure and into the underground cellars, where the Lessini Durello Metodo Classico wines are aged. You will also visit the cooperage before reaching the panoramic terrace, which offers views of the Alpone Valley and the surrounding vineyards.
Sara shares the history of Giannitessari, the traditions of its cellars, and the dedication behind the ageing process. For tours in English, she is joined by another family member who assists with translation.
Following the tour, you will take part in a guided tasting of six wines: Alpone Blu, a sparkling Durello; Lessini Durello Brut Metodo Classico; Soave DOC; DUE Bianco; Colli Berici DOC Tai Rosso; and DUE Rosso. The wines are paired with breadsticks and a selection of local cheeses, typically including Monte Veronese DOP and Gratta e Magna, a local artisanal cheese.
In favorable weather, the tasting takes place on the covered panoramic terrace. During colder months or rain, it is held in the winery’s spacious indoor tasting room. Children and teenagers are welcome on the tour; they will be served water and breadsticks during the tasting. If the dedicated option is selected, children will also receive their own portion of the tasting platter and a non-alcoholic drink of their choice.
