Here is what's in store for you
Your tour will start from Siracusa, where you will be greeted at your hotel and driven through the countryside to the Val di Noto. Here, sunny hills and coastal plains are cultivated with grapevines, olive groves, wheat, fruit, and vegetables. Typical dry stone walls line the rural roads. You'll reach one of the best wineries in Eastern Sicily and enjoy a relaxing time savoring wines and local products, either in the dining room or outdoors in a picnic-style setting. The wine experience can be enhanced with a walk through the vineyards (tasting and light lunch included).
The Val di Noto was severely damaged by a strong earthquake in 1693 and was largely rebuilt in Sicilian Baroque style. Noto is the symbol of this style and lends its name to the “Late Baroque Towns of the Val di Noto” UNESCO World Heritage Site. While walking through the center of Noto, you can admire magnificent Baroque churches—most notably the Cathedral—as well as palaces with ornate balconies featuring wrought iron railings and decorative elements such as cherubs, lions, sirens, and grotesque figures. Noto is often called the “Garden of Stone” because of its typical honey-colored stone. The main street is pedestrian-only and offers a very pleasant walk. The visit to Noto is independent.
Just a few kilometers away, directly overlooking the sea, lies the charming fishing village of Marzamemi. The village unfolds around the harbor and is characterized by narrow lanes and little stone houses with tiled roofs and colorful window frames. A large square marks the center of the village. Once an active hub for tuna fishing, the historic Tonnara is still visible today. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the old town, full of charming restaurants that bring the square to life, surrounded by the sea and the breeze.
At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel.
