The cooking class we took at Villa Vetrichina was the absolute highlight of our European vacation. Patrizia was the consummate hostess supplying flexiblity, great directions, great communication as well as being just a wonderful person. Chef Francesco was awesome to work with. So full of energy and exuberance. He kept us in stitches all evening. Not to mention keeping us in mounds of food that fed four of us for three days afterwards. We learned so much and will take these lessons (and amplifying info sent via email with all the recipes) home with us to help us recreate this wonderful experience. So highly recommended.

We arrived at the villa and were greeted by Francesco the chef and Patrizia the host. The setting was beautiful such a picturesque farmhouse. The attention to detail & planning was far beyond what I expected. I told Patrizia about having a gluten free preference & some foods I avoid which was well accommodated. I made gnocchi with gluten free flour & tiramisu with gluten free biscuits. My partner made tagliatelle, ravioli & the most amazing chicken flavoured with orange. Mid class we made some bread to go with some cured meat they had prepared on a board for a snack where we sat on the outside table watching the sunset with the red wine they provided which was perfect. Both francesco & Patrizia were very informative directing us through the dishes and showing us how to cook the Italian way. They surprised my partner leading him through to the dining area blindfolded where they had laid the table beautifully and put a song on for us to have a dance to for his birthday with a bottle of wine as a birthday present also which was a lovely touch. They brought all the dishes out to the table one by one that we had earlier prepared and there were enough food to feed a party! Couldn’t have asked for a better class and better hosts. Such lovely, welcoming people that make you feel at home from the start.
