Visit to Tenuta Borri
My family and I visited this small winery in the hills of the village of Perino; besides seeing a splendid place and tasting excellent wines, we met a wonderful person: Andrea, the owner and factotum of the estate. Andrea, besides making excellent wines in an extremely artisanal way, is also very good at telling the story of the valley and how grapes are worked.
The saying that good wine comes in small casks definitely applies to this small winery.

A wonderful day with a lot of interesting info about wine
We were welcomed very warmly, and our visit started with a lot of interesting information about winemaking in the region and a bit of wine history. We were shown through the wine cellar, and our many questions were answered patiently. Afterwards, we got to sample four delicious wines, while the children were served pineapple juice. This was accompanied by equally delicious bite-sized regional specialties, so we were actually already full!
After that, we drove a short way up the vineyard to a gorgeous estate, where we were allowed to pick a spot for our picnic. We chose an open stone building with a wonderful view over the vineyards. The picnic itself also consisted of very tasty regional specialties, and there was something for everyone. However, we decided to take the bottle of wine home with us instead – it was quite warm and we still had to drive.
We also really enjoyed the peace and quiet during the picnic. At no point was there any rush whatsoever. It was a wonderful experience that we can highly recommend to anyone interested in wine and regional specialties.

A Toast to Family Tradition
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by beautifully sloping, terraced vineyards surrounding a charming estate whose historic buildings date back to 1732.
We tasted six wines from different harvests, each with its own character. Our favourite was undoubtedly the dry white, with its crisp finish and beautifully clean palate. We also thoroughly enjoyed the late-harvest wine, whose rich sweetness reminded us of a fine sherry perfect for sipping on a cold winter's evening.
What made this visit truly memorable was being guided by one of the family members. As they shared the story of the estate, we came to appreciate the dedication, resilience, and hard work that go into preserving a family tradition. In today's world, where it is often easier to move on from manual work, choosing to stay, nurture the land, and continue a family's legacy is something deeply admirable.
Visiting small, family-run wineries is always special because you leave with more than just great wine you leave with a genuine appreciation for the people behind every bottle. The team also arranged shipping for our wines, making it easy to enjoy them again once we're home.
Kudos to the entire team, and thank you for such a memorable experience. The wonderful thing about wine tasting is that you always leave smiling, but this visit also left us with a deeper appreciation for the passion and perseverance that fill every glass.
