Soave & Valpolicella Tasting in the Vineyard at Il Roccolo di Monticelli

Your experience at Il Roccolo di Monticelli begins with Silvia, the owner and founder, who will welcome you to her family's restored vineyard. She personally oversees the work in the vineyard, cellar, and hospitality, and her informal approach encourages questions and conversation throughout your visit.

You will start with a guided walk from east to west across the hillside, taking in panoramic views of the Mezzane Valley. This walk introduces you to the agricultural landscape connecting the Soave and Valpolicella areas. Along the way, you will learn about biodynamic farming, soil regeneration, and the role of biodiversity in the vineyards.

Following the walk, you'll settle in for a guided tasting of 4 organic wines right in the vineyard. Silvia focuses on the native grapes and terroirs of Soave and Valpolicella, selecting bottles that reflect the season and the stories she wants to share. The selection might include still or bottle-refermented white wines from Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, a bottle-refermented rosé, or red blends from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella. While labels and vintages vary, the tasting always includes four wines.

The wines are served with artisanal bread, the estate’s own organic extra virgin olive oil, and a seasonal selection of local cheeses and cured meats from Lessinia and the Verona area, such as Monte Veronese cheese and local soppressa.
