Bardolino & Lugana Tasting with Tagliere at Montresor near Verona city center
Here is what's in store for you
Since 1892, Cantine Giacomo Montresor has made wine in Verona from vineyards near the shores of Lake Garda, where the mild climate ripens the grapes slowly and evenly. A member of the estate's hospitality team will guide you throughout the visit, from the wine museum to the final tasting.
Your tour begins in the pressing and fermentation area, passes through the historic *fruttaio*—the drying loft for the *appassimento* process—and continues into the underground cellars where the wines age. The visit concludes in the dedicated tasting room, where you will sit down to try four estate wines paired with a typical Veronese *tagliere*.
The wines are served in tasting order:
- Lugana "Satinato" DOP: A dry white from Turbiana grapes, with notes of citrus and white flowers and a light saline finish.
- Lugana Le Tradizioni "Campovalentino" DOP: A fuller, riper expression of Turbiana, showing more stone fruit and texture.
- Bardolino Chiaretto Rosé Le Tradizioni "Brolo Alto" DOP: A pale rosé from Corvina and Rondinella, dry and fresh with red berries and a citrus lift.
- Bardolino Le Tradizioni "Le Banche di San Lorenzo" DOP: A light-bodied red from the same blend, with bright cherry, a touch of spice, and soft tannins.
The *tagliere* is served with the wines and includes three regional cured meats like soppressa and coppa, three local cheeses including Monte Veronese, fresh bread, and the estate's own olive oil. When available, an Amarone jam is also provided to pair with the cheeses.

First time experience of wine tasting
The reason I haven’t given this 5* is because of the cleanliness in the actual wine tasting room itself. The dirty dishes from the previous wine tasting party were left on the tables that were alongside us, for the entire duration of our wine tasting session - so the area as a whole looked untidy.. Also the water glass that I was given had lipstick marks all over it. It was very hard to get the attention of anyone to replace the dirty glass and when I eventually asked for a clean glass they took their time to get me one. I was the only one in our party to have a dirty glass.
The cleanliness issues could have very easily been avoided and a little more attentiveness could have been given during our session.

It's nice to learn
Maybe the theory part on winemaking, the cellar, and the company's history could be improved.
