Valpolicella Classica Tasting with Local Products at Arduini Luciano
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at the Arduini Luciano estate is a personal introduction to Valpolicella Classica, guided by the family Arduini, that has been making wine here for years. Sofia Arduini, Luciano's daughter and co-owner with her brother Andrea, will welcome you.
The visit begins with a walk through the family vineyard, where Sofia will share the history of the estate. You'll then move into the winery to see where the wines are made and aged.
The experience concludes in the dedicated tasting room with a seated tasting led by Sofia. She will pour and explain each of the five traditional wines of the region, from the grape varieties to the production method. The tasting is accompanied by a board of the estate's homemade salami and local cheese, served with breadsticks or taralli, and a taste of their own extra-virgin olive oil.
The five wines you will taste are:
1. Valpolicella DOC Classico "Fontana del Fongo": A fresh, everyday red from Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella grapes, vinified in steel to keep it bright.
2. Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore "Costelonghe": The same blend, but with more structure from higher alcohol and at least one year of aging.
3. Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore: The "little Amarone," re-fermented on Amarone skins for added body and warmth.
4. Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico: The region's flagship, a powerful dry red made from grapes dried for months (appassimento).
5. Recioto della Valpolicella DOCG Classico: Amarone's sweet ancestor, where fermentation is stopped early to retain natural sugars.

Fantastic tasting

An anniversary to remember
At the end of the visit, we sat down at the table to taste their delicacies. 5 excellent wines accompanied by homemade salami and cheeses.
Sofia told us about the wines we tasted and answered our questions and curiosities! Time flew by and if we could have, we would have stayed there to walk in the beautiful vineyards but we had to go home to the kids!
