Provides 3 wine tastings and winery visit from €18.00
The Palazzo di Varignana estate presents its new winery: 1,100 square meters built according to the principles of semi-subterranean architecture, made from natural materials representative of the local area, such as olive wood and red brick, perfectly incorporated into the surrounding landscape. The tasting room is characterized by stylish design finishes and colors reminiscent of autumn foliage, where the view extends toward the terrace overlooking the spectacular vineyard currently being converted to organic production. As well as the native grape varieties, such as Sangiovese, Albana, Famoso, Malbo Gentile, and Pignoletto, you can find international varieties, such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay. We use state-of-the-art production technologies to guarantee the protection of the authenticity and organoleptic properties of our wines. The cellar, under its imposing red brick vaults, houses the French oak barrels in which the young wines rest and refine to reach the right level of aging and become the best expression of the terroir and the vines that produced them. Among the Spumantes you’ll find bottles of Villa Amagioia on the characteristic pupitre wine racks, traditionally used for the remuage process, the last key step in preparation for the disgorgement typical of the Metodo Classico (Champagne Method). The winery and vineyards are situated in a wonderful natural amphitheater, an exceptional location that, since last July, has hosted various events related to the world of wine tourism, such as concerts and open-air cinema with tastings. The tasting room is open from Wednesday to Sunday, offering visitors a unique experience to discover our wines: Chardonnay, Spumante Metodo Classico, Pinot Noir, and Sangiovese Superiore.

Villa Degli Olmi
(Winery in Castel San Pietro Terme)

Provides 2 wine tastings and winery visit from €79.00
Villa degli Olmi is a historic winery with roots dating back to the late 19th century. The story began when Giovanni, the founder, paired silkworm breeding with winemaking, quickly expanding his market beyond the local region as the quality of his wines gained recognition. By 1926, Giovanni’s wines had earned gold medals at prestigious wine exhibitions. In the post-war years, Giovanni’s son, Aurelio, established an independent winery in Creazzo, a small village near Vicenza, marking a new chapter in the company’s history. With the involvement of Aurelio’s sons, Bruno and Luciano, in the 1960s, the winery embraced modernization, introducing technological innovations, including a cutting-edge bottling line. Bruno, a graduate of the Conegliano School of Oenology, led the company’s growth, which included expanding into the Italian market during the 1970s and 1980s. Under the leadership of the 4th generation, represented by Luciano, Matteo, and Camilla, Villa degli Olmi expanded its reach internationally. A new, state-of-the-art cellar at the Altavilla Estate was completed in 2009, positioning the winery to meet the growing demands of foreign markets. Today, Villa degli Olmi is present in 30 countries and continues to grow, all while maintaining a commitment to quality, innovation, and respect for the land.

The Palazzona di Maggio estate is located on the hills of San Pietro di Ozzano Emilia in Emilia Romagna, halfway between Bologna and Imola. A history that dates back to the 1960's when Luigi Perdisa planted large areas of Sangiovese and Albana alongside them with some international vines such as Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Grigio giving life to our wine cellar. Since then, for four generations, the Perdisa's family has cultivated its vineyards with great respect for nature and produced quality wines, embracing innovation with the latest technologies but with its feet firmly planted in tradition.

Cantine Sgarzi Luigi s.r.l.
(Winery in Castel San Pietro Terme)

The first recognitions date back to 1933, when Luigi Sgarzi was the owner of a small winery which delivered wines to the famous inns of Bologna, in oak barrels on horses carriages. To give continuity, at first, his son, Vincenzo and then his nephew Stefano, who started after his studies in the late 70's to gradually enlarge the production capacity of the winery. Sgarzi Stefano has focused mainly on the export, not only to promote the product of their vineyards, but with the winning insight to deliver the best Italian wines in the world and even in innovative packaging, as alternative to glass. Today, just a glance is enough to understand how the company in Castel San Pietro Terme combines the roots to the future: on one side, surrounded by vineyards, the house where the family lived in the first half of this century and next to it, the new headquarters, strikingly modern, with a wide showroom and an underground cellar for barrels, with new offices and laboratory, with the vaulted roof completely covered with photovoltaic panels and with a meeting room on a tower which overlooks the plain. The family Sgarzi has been growing vines and producing wines for many generations in Castel San Pietro Terme, a city located on the “Wine Route” a gastronomical itinerary, among plain and hill, at the point where Emilia becomes Romagna, a region where the vine has been cultivated from the most ancient times. The first recognitions date back to 1933, when the current owner's grandfather, Luigi Sgarzi, had a small winery and delivered wines to the famous inns of Bologna, in oak barrels on horses carriages. From those early time, Cantine Sgarzi Luigi has always considered the genuineness as the most important goal and it has continued to invest in the estate and in the winery by combining traditional viniculture with modern technologies, not only to promote the product of its own vineyards, but also with the winning insight to deliver the best Italian wines in the world.
