Cantine Giubertoni
(Winery in Mantua)
The Giubertoni/Coppini family's adventure in the world of wine began in the late 19th century with Angelo Giubertoni, nicknamed `Il Bel Angelin`, a wine trader in the Verona area who soon moved from sales to the actual production of Lambrusco Mantovano. Six generations later, Cantine Giubertoni is still led with the same passion, love, research, and desire for innovation by Emma and Alessandro Coppini and Omero and Albertina Giubertoni.
A stroll through the vineyards, contact with our beautiful land and our grapes, followed by a visit to our winery to learn about our family history. A look at the bottling plant and a glimpse of the new winemaking technologies, concluding with a tasting session of our wines and some Mantua specialties, in our brand-new dedicated tasting area.
La Prendina
(Winery in Mantua)
The Az Ag La Prendina wine production is quite recent. It began in 1958 with the purchase of the vineyards. After extensive re-working we planted new vineyards based on our experience at Cavalchina. The existence of La Prendina as a farm goes back many years. Maps and documents of the Gonzaga period indicate the existence of the La Prendina estate. Also the evidence of the buildings such as the tower and dovecote suggests a much older existence.
Initially wines were sold under the Cavalchina name. The first wine to use the La Prendina name was a Merlot bottled in 1980 for the celebrated chef Gualtiero Marchesi. The Merlot remains the wine that best expresses the character of La Prendina.
By 1990 all La Prendina’s wines were sold under its own brand and started to be recognised in tastings and guides for its Bordeaux style, particularly with Vigneto del Falcone.
Cantina Gozzi
(Winery in Mantua)
Cantina Gozzi is the story of a family that, generation after generation, has cultivated and refined the fruits of the land with love and passion.
The cantina is the result of a constant striving for quality, obtained through the blend of the local traditional knowledge and new technologies, with a maximum respect for nature and, therefore, for mankind. Thanks to a very precise and careful work, our wines are able to express all the richness and quality of the unique and varied terroir of Garda Morainic Hills.
Azienda Agricola Gozzi is still a family run operation, all activities from growing and picking of the grapes, to winemaking, bottling and selling are conducted by members of the Gozzi family.
Our philosophy is first to preserve the cultivation of local varieties: Rondinella and Rossanella as reds, Garganega and Trebbiano as whites. Furthermore the long winemaking tradition of the morainic hills of Garda has led to the integration of international grape varieties, which, thanks to the lake's microclimate, have been able to take root and thrive. These varieties include Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
The result is the production of 16 different labels, from high quality sparkling to still young and aged white and red wines.
