About Winery and Wines
Vinhos Ti' Nuno is a family project with over five decades of winemaking tradition. It began in 1972 with grandfather António Elias, who sold wine barrels, and continued with his son Nuno Martínez, keeping the passion for vineyards and the winery alive. For many years, the business relied on restaurants, private clients, and word of mouth, without advertising, growing naturally, including the first orders for Angola in the last ten years.
In 2014, the eldest son, Ricardo Oliveira, joined his father in the business, bringing dedication and family vision. In 2024, daughter Bárbara Martínez joined the project, launching the Vara Curta brand, dedicated to bottling wines from the best plots, marking the beginning of a new phase.
At the same time, the wine tourism project was born, opening the winery's doors to the public. The space combines a century-old cellar filled with antiques and the Piedade Antiques Room, maintained by matriarch Piedade Martínez, a collector of antiques. Each family member has their own role, creating an authentic, family-friendly project.
More than a business, Vinhos Ti' Nuno is a dedicated family. Longtime customers are practically family, and every visitor feels at home. With this new phase, we aim to showcase our wines, conveying authenticity, warmth, and a love for the land and wine.
Our vineyards are located in the Lisbon Wine Region, in the unique microclimate protected by the Serra de Montejunto (mountain range). The soils are highly alkaline, giving our wines remarkable freshness and minerality, while the constant Atlantic influence brings a subtle saltiness, especially noticeable in our white wines. These natural conditions allow the grapes to ripen slowly, achieving perfect balance between structure and elegance.
We cultivate both traditional and regional grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Castelão, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Barroca, Syrah, Arinto, and Fernão Pires. This diversity allows us to craft wines that reflect the richness of Portuguese viticulture, with reds that are generous and full of character, and whites that are crisp, mineral, and refreshing.
Our Vara Curta range highlights the best vineyard plots, expressing the authentic character of our land, while the Adega Major and Tinuno labels preserve the everyday wine culture of Portugal, offering wines that are accessible yet true to their origins.
Every bottle from Vinhos Ti’ Nuno tells the story of our terroir, our family, and our passion for winemaking passed down through generations.
