Cavalchina is an historic winery located in Custoza (VR), a few kilometers from Lake Garda, in the heart of the morainic amphitheater.

For generations, the Piona family has passionately cultivated the bond between land, tradition, and quality.

Our company traces its roots to the early 20th century, when the first vineyards were purchased in an area that has always been suited to viticulture. The name "Cavalchina" comes from the location of the estate, a place steeped in history where the 19th-century Habsburg land registry documented the presence of highly prized vineyards. 

But the most important chapter in our history is linked to an intuition that changed the destiny of an entire territory: in 1962, Cavalchina was the first winery to use the name "Custoza" to identify the white wine produced on these hills, making a decisive contribution to the creation and affirmation of the denomination.

A winemaking enterprise that combines passion, family history, and respect for the land, a corporate philosophy that unites tradition and innovation.

We cultivate with passion different grape varieties, in 4 different wine areas in Veneto.

At Cavalchina Estate, in the Custoza area, we cultivate Fernanda, Garganega and Trebbiano, the white grapes that are part of the Custoza DOC and Amedeo Custoza Superiore DOC blends, and two red grapes: Corvina and Rondinella, for the production of Chiaretto, Bardolino and S. Lucia Bardolino Superiore wines.

At Prendina Estates, in Monzambano, we produce international grapes, in order to obtain our mono-varietal wines: Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Riesling, Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet. Here we produce also our sparkling wine: Cuvèe Maison, a Classic Method obtained by Chardonnay and a little percentage of Corvina grape.

In the 'L Lac Estate we produce the Turbiana grape, used for the production of our Lugana wine.

The last Estate of the Piona family, Torre d'Orti, is located in Marcellise, in the Valpolicella wine area. Here we cultivate the typical grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara. The wine produced here are Torre Rosso, Valpolicella DOC, Valpolicella Ripasso DOC, Morari Valpolicella Superiore DOC, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOCG and Recioto DOCG.
