Had an excellent time here, the owners couldn't have been more welcoming, kind or generous in their hospitality.

The wine is amazing, we bought 12 bottles, mostly red but the rose is 100% the most refreshing drink I ever had. They fed us with some fine cheese and salami along with bread and local oils.

Somehow we need to get these bottles back to the US !

About Winery and Wines

The Negri family has been dedicated to winemaking since 1870, with a legacy that has evolved over generations. In 1970, the family began producing all of its grapes on their estate, La Guarda, located in Castrezzone di Muscoline, on the Brescia shore of Lake Garda. The estate spans 20 hectares between two hills, rising from 320 to 370 meters, and includes 2.5 hectares dedicated to olive cultivation. With stony, alluvial soil, a dry climate, and steady winds, the area is considered by experts as one of the best for producing high-quality wines. Today, La Guarda is a family-run business led by Angelo Negri and his son Luigi, who combine traditional methods with modern viticultural and enological innovations. The estate is a proud member of the "Classical Garda DOC Wines" union, and their passion for quality extends beyond wine to include olive oil, vinegar, and wine jelly. Visitors to La Guarda can enjoy the stunning landscape, local cuisine, and cultural festivals, making it a true destination for wine tourism in Lombardy.

La Guarda Winery produces a range of exceptional wines under the Garda Classico DOC and Garda DOC labels. The red varietals include Barbera, Groppello, Marzemino, and Sangiovese, while the whites feature Rhine Riesling and Chardonnay. Notable wines include Groppello, Chiaretto, Red Sabbioso, Red Higher, and the distinctive Inchino, a Groppello DOC Chinato. Each wine reflects the unique terroir of the estate, where the combination of stony soils and favorable climate conditions contributes to their richness and complexity. La Guarda also offers grappa, extra virgin olive oil, and other local specialties, all crafted with the same dedication to quality. Whether it’s their structured reds or refreshing whites, La Guarda wines are a true expression of the region’s winemaking heritage, offering a rich and authentic taste of the Garda area.
