About Winery and Wines

The Randi Winery, founded in the late 1800s by great-grandfather Luigi, is a family-owned estate nestled between Fusignano and Alfonsine in the Romagna plains. After World War II, the winery evolved into what it is today under the leadership of brothers Denis and Massimo Randi. Denis focuses on the technical aspects and care of the vineyards, while Massimo manages the commercial side and customer relations. The estate is known for producing native grape varieties, including Uva Longanesi for the renowned "Burson" wines, Famoso for "Rambela" wines, as well as Centesimino and Malbo Gentile grapes. These historic varieties thrive in the local environment, particularly the Longanesi grape, a rare black berry vine discovered near the pinewoods of Classe, Ravenna, with probable Middle Eastern origins. The winery is deeply committed to preserving and enhancing these indigenous vines while promoting the growth of the Romagna region and its people. Since 2018, the estate has been undergoing organic conversion, further cementing its dedication to sustainability and tradition.

Randi Winery produces a distinctive range of wines made from native Romagna grape varieties. The Burson wines, crafted from Uva Longanesi, are rich and full-bodied, reflecting the authenticity and strength of the local people. The Rambela wines, made from the Famoso grape, offer a fresh, vibrant character that is youthful and lively. The estate also cultivates Centesimino and Malbo Gentile grapes, producing wines that showcase the unique terroir of the Romagna plains. With a focus on organic and sustainable practices, Randi Winery is committed to creating wines that express the genuine flavors of the region. Visitors can enjoy tastings led by Massimo, paired with traditional local foods, in the winery’s tasting room and shop. Private dinners with carefully curated wine pairings are also offered, providing an immersive experience of Romagna’s rich wine and culinary heritage.
