About Winery and Wines
A name and a number define our company andmark the origins of our story. We are proud tobe the first and oldest winery in Sardinia, anhonour that we owe entirely to our founder,Salvatore Contini, and his wife Anna MariaDessì.
The vineyards used for our wines occupy an area of more than 200 hectares.About 100 hectares are located in the Sinis peninsula, in the Tirso valley and onthe slopes of Monte Arci. The remainder are distributed across other areas ofSardinia, each of which has unique and functional pedoclimatic characteristicsto ensure the best possible grapes are cultivated.
The company produces a complete range of wines available in Italy andinternationally. It is continually evolving, in terms of both winemakingtechniques and the conception of new products.
Several local autochthonous vines were alsorediscovered, such as Nieddera, Caddiu and Muristellu (Sardinian Bovale).
The heart of the Contini 1898 vineyards is situated, for historical reasons, in the Sinis region, more precisely in the lower valley of the river Tirso.
